I've heard that process preached over at AVSforum. Although I didn't use that exact method, I can see how it would be extremely effective. The length of cables made things a little to prohibitive for me and, being the living room, I didn't have many options anyway. Over a week or two, I tried the sub in various locations across the "front stage" and walked/crawled around the room, instead of looking for the sweet spot, looking for peaks and nulls in the room. I looked for the position that was flattest throughout the room, but most of all, had the least of either in the listening positions. Not nearly as direct in approach, but I'm too Dutch to run out and buy a 12'+ cable just for one procedure, given the room.

![]() Best place to put a sub is almost always in one of the front corners of the room if you can.
