Opinions on latest Speaker and Sub purchase

Well i guess i got to love and hate Boxing Day sales up here in Canada. They have great deals and yet my wallet hurts in the end for a month or so. Anyways here is my problem with my purchase. I have a very small bedroom like setup for my HT (9.5ft x 12 ft) but i have 2 crappy rear surround speakers that i am still using from my first RCA HTiB set (which i plan to use to maybe setup my living room up with for the family) I wanted to get them changed out eventually and i came across some Energy C-300 for $200. I also bought a new sub too replace or combine with my Velodyne CHT-8 sub. So for $300 they had the Velodyne DPS-12 and is the one thing i know i wont be returning. So my plan is to movie my JBL N28i speakers from Front L&R to the Back L&R and have my Energy become my Front L&R speakers. Then move my Mission M70i to my Rear Center surround speakers and get them crappy RCA speakers out. My mom and sisters think its overkill for my room for its size (new Energy barely fit if i keep them) and think i should return them for a refund and stick with my setup i have now. In a way i see their point and in other ways the HT guy inside me says to keep them especially for the pice i got them at (reg $600 Cnd)

So from one HT lover to many others i ask. Am i overkilling myself for such a small room setup??? Or am i a brilliant man just looking towards the future of my dream room setup (ok not dream but bigger room never the less)

I think the question you should ask yourself is this:

Is the improvement (or lack thereof) in sound quality as well as the cost worth the crowding of your room?

Were the JBL's on stands? Those are bookshelf right? If on stands...try the Energy swap, otherwise you now have fronts with drivers much higher than before and depending on your seating setup...it's gonna sound WAY different IMO (and that ain't counting the sonic differences between Energy and JBL).

The JBL speakers are indeed bookshelf speakers. I had one on the dresser and one on my Sub and the sound was good that way. (R speaker a tad higher with setup) I sit on my bed which is about 2.5 feet tall and would be right in line with the Energy speakers height wise when/if i set them up in the room. I even took one upstairs still in the box just to see how it could possibly look. . . .it was nice

UPDATE:

I got weak and set them puppies up. Moving my JBLs to the back and the new Energy in the front seems to of created a much fuller sounding setup then i thought it would. I wonder how things will be when my Energy speakers are finally broken in (suggested 100hrs of medium volume music before trying something harsh on them. Although i did watch HP:OotP HD-DVD with TrueHD tonight)
