New Speakers!

I was at K Mart and some dude in the parking lot said he misordered a pair of speakers and couldn't send them back. He said they were about $2,200 for the pair, but I grabbed them for only $750!

I haven't tried them out yet, but they look beefy!

I can't tell if you're joking or not. But that sounds exactly like this scam. Damn dude, that's a lot to spend on speakers you haven't heard. They even spelled "tweeter" as "twerter."

I was just joshing, I'm not quite that stupid.

Actually my father's boss bought these from a "white van" and ended up giving them to my father months ago since he just never used him. I hooked them up to an old Sony stereo receiver we have and one just moans and crackles and the other is dead.

I pulled them out of a closet while cleaning today, probably throw them away.

Thanks for the words though, it's amazing how many people fall for this scam!

I must be the only one satisfied with my White Van speakers. I swear, no joke.

Back in, hell I dunno...mid 80's?, I was leaving work to go to lunch. Some dudes in a van were in the parking lot and told me they had made a delivery to some restaurant (I think) and brought too many speakers. They had to dump them for a dollar a watt. That would have been $240 bucks for the pair. I happen to have had $180 on me and they finally agreed. I took them back to my apartment and hooked them up. They worked! They sounded great too (back then).

Believe it or not I still use them in my living room setup. 20 years later they still sound better than BLOSE as well as sounding pretty decent for 2 chnl TV and tunes.
