B&w Vm6, Vm1

So the wife is pushing me to fix my 6th channel because it sticks so far out from the wall, so I am pushing for some nicer speakers if I have to make them skinnier. I don't want to deal with some decent build where quality will suffer more from shaving off the depth. Since I want a B&W system all around and have 2 already (1 currently used as 6th rear, I would move so that all 3 rears are B&W), I started looking at what they were offering and was interested in the VM6 or VM1. Now I looked at the specs on these and they seem identical even the dimensions, wattage, everything. Anyone know the different aside from housing? And has anyone heard this? I will demo them before I buy 1, but i was curious what you guys thought.

I've never heard anything from the VM line.

My local B&W dealer doesn't cary them, well, I mean they are happy to sell them to you, but they don't have them on the floor. They do cary everything else B&W makes though.

From what I can tell, the VM6 is simply a newer model and slightly bigger and more appealing cosmetically for wall placement. Specs appear to be the same.

yeah, i thought that was odd. I don't really like buying blind especially with a skinny speaker....oh well.

As an update, I purchased two VM1's floor models and one will be the rear center and I am going to move the other one to replace my front center. $200 bucks for the pair - not a bad deal. I went in looking to just buy one FPM1 for a rear center.

I pick them up friday and I am quite excited since I have been trying to convince the wife to let me get a new center, but I could only get her to agree to the one FPM2, now I win in both ways for half the cost of the one FPM2.

I got my VM1's all hooked up. They sound great. As a front center it is way better then the JBL I have had forever. As a rear, you only can expect so much since its a limited use speaker any way. I love having my LM's as the left and right rear, though. Overall, I am quite pleased. I will get some pictures up when I have some time.
