As long as it works ( I believe that Amazon has a pretty good return policy ) give it a try. If it doesn't work, you could always get a component video switch. I found this over at the Radio Shack website. True, it's more expensive, but would give you greater flexibility, till you are ready to pick up a new AVR 3808.

Well guys the thread title should of read too few optical inputs but I worked around it. I disconnected the optical cable from my DVD played and connected that to the PS2. I am now using analog connections from the dvd player to the receiver and since DTS still works on the dvd player this will do for now. Eventually I will need to get a new receiver but this work around is ok. I just have to remember to tune the receiver to DVD for the PS2 sound to work. The other optical in is occupied by the HD cable box. I swear if the wife would let me run everything into the receiver it would be easier but she doesn't want to have to turn it on just to watch tv. She wants it simple and I want the best I can get out of my gear that I have.

I could see a similar problem with HDMI inputs in some cases . Receivers tend to have around 4 HDMI inputs . So let's say you had this kind of a set up .

1.Upconverting Region Code Free standard DVD player

2. Blu-ray player

3. X-Box 360 Console

4. Digital Satellite Receiver

And there you go , all four inputs used up .
