Hooking an IPod to a cheap avr?

Just wondering how you hook an IPod to a avr. I have a Pioneer VSX-516 for my outdoor theater but my neighbor wants to use it for his kids birthday party. He wanted to know if an IPod could be connected so he doesn't have to dj the event.

Optical in? Does the IPod have optical out?

Line out split to stereo Y adapter.

Yep, she just came over and we hooked up the extra minijack to stereo cable I'd bought for the Mac Mini and tunes were a playing.
