Question about selling at EB?
Is selling at Electronics Boutique worth my time? I am planning on selling the following and just want a rough estimate of what I can get for each?
All of the following are in great condition with boxes. - Dreamcast w/ controller - Playstation w/ 2 regular controllers and rumble controller - Soul Caliber (DC) - NBA 2K (DC) - Street Fighter EX plus Alpha (PS) - Final Fantasy 7 - Triple Play 99 (PS) - NBA Live 98 (PS) - Game Day 98 (PS) - Tekken 3 (PS) - Memory card for both Playstation and Dreamcast Is EB the best option or are there any other options? Thanks for any replies. |

I guess EB is pretty reasonable. Other options would be to try online places like half.com or ebay, but if you want some hard cash right away EB could work.
You could just bring all of your games in a bag and let them scan each one and offer you a printout of how much you'd get back for each game/item. I did that once, with a lot of my old N64 stuff in a garbage bag. Sure, I looked funny, but it's good that EB gave me a choice if I wanted to sell them or keep it. A few things that you should know: -EB says they love games in their original boxes w/ instructions (which you seem to have). They offer more cash. So they say, at least. -Sports games sell for barely anything. Since older sports games have older rosters, you'll often see games like NBA 2k2 sell for, literally, a few dollars. I think I saw All-Star Baseball sell for $3.00 there. -You could also opt for store credit instead of cash. Pretty good way to get a major discount on games/systems/peripherals.

Try to find a mom and pop store or Pawn Shop... compare offers.
I suggest against Ebay, there are just way too many bad bidders/sellers.

I would check the going rates for bundles on eBay, to give you some idea if there's any interest out there. You may / may not want to bundle Soul Calibur with your console, but you might draw more interest if you do. My guess is that your fighting games will elicit more of a look-see than your sports games, provided that they're in as new condition. I'll be blunt: all of your sports games are little more than fancy coasters. Buyers have no interest in sports games from last year, much less from a few years back. They draw no interest on eBay and neither will EB. Forget EB and roll the dice with eBay on the Dreamcast items and the PSX fighters.
