Be sure to find out if these really are the B&M prices! I would LOVE to get Alien quad and Alias 2 at these prices.

What does 'brick-and-mortar' mean? Is it just saying that this is the price that will be charged in the actual stores and not online?

That's a great price on the Alien Quad. I just read somewhere else that it's going to be 64.99 at Costco as well. I wonder what they'll be letting POTC go for?

Brick and mortar is a term for "physical store" that you can go into. It really applies to ANY store in existance in your city.

Circle K/7-Eleven/Food City/Fry's Electronics... all B&M

Fry's brick-and-mortar prices often differ from the prices at its online unit, Outpost.com. In this case, the Alien Quadrilogy will be slightly higher. Good thru Tuesday, 12/2:

$6.99 (twopacks) - Action Jackson/Tango & Cash, Astronaut's Wife/Soldier, Rumble in the Bronx/Corruptor

$14.99 (twopacks) - Ocean's Eleven (remake)/Heat, Caddyshack/Blazing Saddles, Green Mile/Shawshank Redemption, Gone with the Wind/Andersonville

$15.99 - Pirates of the Caribbean

$69.99 - Alien Quadrilogy

No mention of Alias Season 2 in any of the weekend ads, Notoriousaurus.

Are these studio price drops or "loss leaders" at Fry's? A store like Fry's will put stuff on sale at a loss to theirselve's just to attract customers to the store. It is very difficult to go to Fry's and not be tempted to buy something on impulse.

limacharliewhis,

Is the Buffy price on any of the newspaper ads? I might try to pricematch at Best Buy.

Yes. I actually got the ad price online, but the online ad is usually an exact copy of the newspaper ad. The Buffy price is on today's ad. The rest of the prices were in Saturday and Sunday papers.

Good lookin out! I'll check out todays paper then incase I decide to pricematch at best buy. Do you work for Frys? Just wondering since you're always posting the Frys ad.

Hi Icon769, no, I don't work there. I just browse the LA Times newspaper every morning online, and they post the Fry's ads in their advertising section every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

I get the weekday prices from there, and I subscribe to the weekend papers for home delivery.

I've gotten some really good deals at Fry's in the past (like Die Hard 5-Star box set for $39.99, 24 Season 1 box set for $34.99, numerous new releases for $14.99), and figured others might be interested in the same stuff, if they're lucky enough to have a Fry's store nearby.

Just a follow-up to the deals that expire today:

Bad Boys is selling for $15.99.

Pirates of the Caribbean is still selling for $15.99, in case you haven't picked it up yet.

It's certainly not a phenomenal deal, but I picked up 28 Days Later and Solaris for $14.99 each this weekend, which is certainly the cheapest I've seen these titles at B&M (with the exception of a day-after-Thanksgiving sale, anyway).

Wished I'd noticed the sale price on L.A., though...

Any idea on Fry's after-Christmas sale? I've seen ads on TV, but no specific references to products...

Nothing spotted yet. I'm trying to check my regular source for this weekend's ads. There was a one page ad that is good thru 12/26, today, but no DVDs listed, just TVs, cell phones, etc. Friday is usually the biggest ad of the week, so there might be more ad pages just not loaded up yet.

In answer to my own previous question the only thing I saw of note in Fry's after-Xmas sale was the Alien box set for $45...
