Preferred Customer Sale (10% Off) at Best Buy this Weekend?

I've heard it through the grapevine that this is going to be happening this weekend. Any of you peeps in the know can confirm? I've received no coupons

Also, can you buy something this week, then come in with your coupon this weekend and get the 10% refunded back to you? I know it sounds greedy, but I've heard it happens...

Not that I know of. There are some 10% coupons off, but they came with the free Coming Attractions Vol. 1 DVD that came out a few weeks ago (I think on the same week or week before when Matrix Reloaded came out).

Here's a summary of the coupons, which are good only on certain dates:
11/2-11/8: 10% off any Disney DVD, 10% off any Sci-Fi/Horror DVD
11/9-11/15: 10% off any anime DVD, 10% off any drama DVD
11/16-11/22: 10% off any television DVD,
11/30-12/6: 10% off any Comedy DVD, 10% off any DVD collector's set
12/7-12/13: 10% off any action DVD, 10% off any family DVD
12/14-12/20: 10% off any Holiday DVD

I was able to use the 10% off any Disney DVD on Finding Nemo today.

This booklet also came with coupons for certain music CD releases and certain videogame releases.

Unless Best Buy runs two promotions simultaneously, it's unlikely there'll be a preferred weekend promo for the rest of this year.

It's a "FIVE-DAY SALES EVENT" (Nov 7-11)

But the only DVD related coupon is "Free $10 Best Buy Gift Card Instantly with every $75 spent on music, movies and games"

boddah! Thanks for confirming this. Is it the normal kind where you get coupons in the mail, then? Have you already received yours?

I usually get the "sales event" coupons in the store but have received nothing so far this week... Is there a) any rhyme or reason as to who gets the coupons, and b) any recourse if you don't get them in the mail? Can you ask for the discounts?

I've been dutifully spending money on my BB card so I don't know why I haven't received any coupons...

Maybe this has been discussed previously (I haven't searched) but I'm starting to get really ticked off about this "Preferred Customer Sale" crap.

I talked to both of my local Best Buys and both had the same song and dance: "The coupons are mailed out randomly based on your spending habits at Best Buy..."

Well if it's based on spending (and in my case, with their damn high-interest-rate card), then it ain't exactly random, is it?

I've spent consistently for the last six months and the one dang time I really want to get the coupons (I am in desperate need of a new cell phone), I don't get them.

Anybody not using their 10% off coupon good towards cell phones want to help me out and mail me theirs? I'll of course pay for shipping and throw in a fun surprise for you as well...

I used the exact same coupon yesterday for Finding Nemo. The cashier gave me $10 dollars off, not 10%. I basically got the Matix Revisited for free. With all the money I spend at Best Buy I don't feel too guilty about this.

Yep. Those are great deals. But back to my problem...

Seriously, you've given me an idea... If anyone has one of the Preferred Customer coupons for this weekend, specifically, the one that would allow 10% off a cell phone purchase, I will trade it with you via snail-mail for the entire book of the coupons that the guys are talking about in the above posts. I have one of those "Coming Attractions" discs and I just will not have the money to be buying DVDs this Christmas season.

Any takers?

I definitely made a note of that once DVDFile posted the specs on the box set.

As for the Preferred Customer Sale, I've usually gotten them in the past almost every time they had it, but haven't gotten anything this time. Usually, they're pretty good about sending it a week ahead of time, or by Monday at the latest. If it doesn't arrive today, I wouldn't expect to get it at all.
