Okay, today in the mail I got a post card saying "We can't give you a your rebate becuase you did not complete the offer correctly" or some shit like that. And, I did exactly what the lady told me to do at FYE when I bought the "Scarface" Box Set. So, any one got an suggestions on what I should do? I found nothing on there website about Rebates and tryed to call the FYE that I bought it from and kept getting a busy signal. So, HELP ME PLEASE SOMEONE!

Well, I'm not sure what the FYE rebate entailed, but I'll tell a short story about a rebate that was 'refused' me in a similar way. I got a postcard from Motorola that said my rebate form was incorrect/had the wrong UPC/some other lame thing.

I wrote them a note. A short, sweet, and polite note stating that I had indeed enclosed the correct UPC symbol and filled out the form correctly. I didn't have photocopies (d'oh!), which I usually try to have, and so I figured, hey, what am I out? an extra 37 cents? I know I did it right, I wasn't raised from the dead yesterday.

Four weeks later I got my money. Weird, huh?

Donkey, maybe you should give the 'polite note' a try.

That sucks about your rebate. Why can't make a trip over to the store and pay them a visit, not that that would do anything anyway. I personally hate that store and would never buy anything there even if it was the last possible copy on earth.

One thing you could try is doing a search for rebates on the net and seeing if anyone else has had a similar problem. Rebates are usually handled by companies that do only that. Also you could try to get a corporate number for FYE and see if you could contact them, or see if they have a number for the rebate house. Good luck.

FYE is part of a huge conglomerate called "Trans World Entertainment Corporation". In the biz they are called TWEC for short, and you probably see them referred to all the time if you read trade articles at all (even if you didn't know who they are). They are based in Albany, NY.

Here is a link to their corporate site.

Since this is a money matter, you can always call this guy and see where it leads :

Quote:
John J. Sullivan
Executive Vice President, Treasurer & Chief Financial Officer
E-mail: corpcomm@twec.com
Ph: 518-452-1242

I grabbed a press release from the site and it mentions at the bottom that Sullivan's at ext. 7400...I doubt he answers his own phone, though Good luck!

Nice to hear that everything worked out for you. Being nice is the only way to go in a situation involving any type of money or check. Niceness always works. I work at Blockbuster and if a customer has a late fee and they are nice about it, I'll usually cut it in half or just take the whole thing off.....it's the people who are mean who I have the most fun with.
