Did your copy of Pirates of the Caribbean come with a free ticket to Haunted Mansion?

I was reading on another forum that some people found a MovieCash ticket to see Haunted Mansion inside their copies of Pirates of the Caribbean. I had been expecting this, it makes sense: they're both inspired by theme park rides and thus go after the same core audience; also, Pirates is definately going to be a hot seller (it sold 4 million copies on Tuesday I believe), so including a Haunted Mansion ticket would be an easy way for Disney to drive people to Mansion. Also, there had been some reports of Mansion tickets being included in Santa Clause 2 as well.

However, my Pirates DVD did NOT come with any sort of ticket. There was the Buy 3 Get 1 Free promotional slip and a Lion King DVD sweepstakes ad/entry form, but no Haunted Mansion ticket.

Now, I've seen Haunted Mansion already, but I'd really really love to go again, since it was a really fun movie. But Mom usually won't pay for me to see the same movie twice, and Dad (who saw it with me the first time because he was taking my brother) said later that you could twiddle your thumbs and stare into space for an hour and a half and have a better time than you would seeing Haunted Mansion, so I seriously doubt he'll pay up again either. So I could use that ticket. Any ideas about how to obtain one? I should have gotten one in Pirates.

And, to the point: Pirates buyers, did your copy come with a Haunted Mansion ticket? Just curious. Thanks guys!

I haven't opened my copy of Pirates yet. If I DO have a ticket, I'll PM you and just send it to you. I'll have no use for it.

No, mine didn't. I got mine at Costco, where it came with a free Junior Novelization of the movie.

It's possible that other stores had other promo items enclosed with the DVD, and that one store's promo item was a HM moviecash ticket.

So, anyone who says "yes" to this should mention what store it was purchased at. Jake, where did yours come from?

I opened mine up and looked at the discs, but didn't really pay attention to the inserts, merely glancing a them. I'll have to check this out tonight.

Just curious, Jake, did they mention where they got their copies of POTC? I bought mine at Target.

I saw the free movie ticket avertised at Walmart. I didn't buy POTC because I am getting it for christmas, but I think it was a Walmart only promotion.

Mine came from Best Buy courtesy Mom and included the insert, a Buy 3 Get 1 Free form, and a Lion King DVD sweepstakes entry form (what was that doing in Pirates?)

Other thread at oiher forum here. Some who got it mention the store, some don't. One said Target.

If it's packaged INSIDE the DVD I don't think it's a store promo. If it was in a seperate package attached to the dvd, like the BB Matrix Reloaded bonus disc, then it'd be a store promo, but if it's inside the keepcase I doubt it.

larphillips, thanks for the offer but I'm not allowed to give out my address online.

Unicorn - I'dve loved the junior novelization, if only because it seems to be almost identical to the screenplay (most Disney junior novelizations I used to read are, the scene-setting description in the screenplay is just rewritten in prowse form and the dialogues remain pretty close if not identical.) Could you detail the book a bit? Thanks.

Just FYI, everybody - There have also been reports of Haunted Mansion tickets enclosed with The Santa Clause 2. But, me personally, I don't have money for that now (I owe Mom money) and won't buy it blind.

Mine had the free ticket in there, and I got mine at Wal Mart. The cardboard sleeve the dvd came in even had the ticket promo embossed on the sleeve.

I also got an "authentic coin from the movie", not sure what they meant by authentic.

Nope. I got mine at CC & didn't get one. If I'd known about it I'd have gone to Wal Mart. That would've given me 3 Haunted Mansion tix. The big week I got 2 in Santa Clause 2 (Nov. 18th). When I spent a ton at CC & had to go back because Bond box set #2 had a loose disc because of a broken hub which I returned sealed & then got home to find Santa Clause 2 also with a broken hub & had to make a 3rd trip to CC they told me I could keep the free Movie Cash ticket in SC2 & there was one in all of CC's SC2. With a 16 theater cineplex they don't care what movie you see with a ticket once you get in so I'll probably see HM & possibly save the other one to see LOTR:ROTK. Of course New Line will get plenty of my money as I plan on seeing it several times.

I Got 15 copies at Walmart (small video store, not a lunatic) and each one had a free ticket to Haunted Mansion in it. It definately has to be a Walmart thing. But on the down side, I got no tickets inside my Santa Clause 2.

Not always true. A few months ago when Animal House came out, they had a coupon inside for $3 off The High School Reunion Collection. However, if you bought it a Best Buy, you got a second coupon for $3 off Sixteen Candles or Weird Science.

This coupon was inside the keep case, but again, only at Best Buy.

Also, Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes came with a bonus CD at Best Buy, and it was inside the box as well.

My brother and I got our copies at Wal-Mart and each got a ticket. A friend of mine got his at Best Buy and didn't get a ticket. So far it looks like it may be a Wal-Mart only promotion.

Haunted Mansion Tickets

Hey,

If anybody has any Haunted Mansion movie tickets that they don't want....please send me an email.

I know that the movie is not getting reviews, but I work at the Haunted Mansion at WDW and would still like to see the movie.

Thanks in advance,
Steve

Yeah, I picked mine up at Wal-Mart (because it was $13.97 there)(and the vhs was $17.87, that's funny, more money for a lower quality medium) and I got the free movie ticket. I'm not interested in seeing the movie, but my dad loves the ride from when he was a kid, so I'll give it to him. Personally, I would have much rather had the stuff for the buy 3 get 1 free though.

Oh, you can get that, too. The form is available inside most copies pretty much every major DVD Disney has released since September 9 (Sleeping Beauty, Holes, The Lion King, Finding Nemo, etc., as well as Pirates) and if you didn't get one or don't want to buy those discs, you can download and print< the form online as well. Titles offered include the following, all on DVD or (yuck) VHS.

The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad
Tarzan & Jane
The Tigger Movie
The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Robin Hood
The Mighty Ducks
Remember the Titans (P&S)
Remember the Titans (WS, DVD-only)
Snow Dogs (warning - this is a P&S-only, non-OAR DVD!)
The Country Bears (warning - this is a P&S-only, non-OAR DVD!)

For the folks that are gonna let the Haunted Mansion free ticket go to waste: Why not just use that ticket to get in the theater, then once inside go see something else? That's what I would do.
