Yeah, I see what you mean. When I first went to the Express.com site, MIB was listed as the "Deal of the Day" and it was 50% off.

Now, there is some OTHER title listed as the "Deal of the Day". I guess I caught the deal at the tail end of it......

Sorrry!!!

Peace.....

WTF?! When I went there, it listed it as 50% off at about $20. Now my order confirmation says $40. I'll be sending them a stern email.

I would cancel the order if you could. There is NO excuse for that AT ALL!!!!!

That's CLEARLY false advertisement!

In fact, I'm going to cancel my outstanding pre-orders with them RIGHT NOW!

Peace....

Go there now it should say 40 percent off! I just got off the phone with a rep that said between certain hours on Friday they undergo price changes however it seems strange that it would go from 50 percent to 10 percent to 40 percent.
Also he denied the rumors that they iled for bankruptcy or any other problems.
And they are honoring the 50 percent off price for me since I basically proved to them what I saw.

Here's what I sent them:

Quote:
Hi. I placed an order for Men In Black: Limited Edition today, March 9,
because when I went to the page it had a special 50% off sale that came out
to about $20. However, when my order confirmation came via email, I am now
being charged $40. I want to know why my order price has been changed? And
if I can not get the $20 price, then I want my order (#*******) cancelled.
I've heard many a bad thing about Express.com these days and this action
only seems to reaffirm what I've heard. I expect a response from you on
this action.

Yep, it does say 40% off. Too bad... too late....

I canceled my pre-order of "The Rock" (Criterion) and bought it at Amazon.com for the SAME price.

I cancelec my pre-order of the Superman 4-disc box set. I wait and do more shopping before I buy that one.

Peace.....

I called and asked about the Bankruptcy too, they put me on hold for 5 minutes after sounding a little surprised, then came back telling me it wasn't true, that they'd be the first ones to know.

Maybe someone should provide them with the Yahoo link that outlines the Chapter 11 . Either these folks are lying or they're being lied to, in which case they're going to be in for a nasty surprise real soon when they come in for work one day only to get a pink slip.

It sounds like they took the "Wag the Dog" approach: "deny, deny, deny...."

Peace....

P.S. By the way, how is Amazon.com doing? Are they destined to sink like Express.com or are they in good shape?

Update:
My order has shipped and they charged me the price with 40 percent off and I requested they credit my card $3.97 and they have done so. It looks as though I will be getting MIB this week for 50 % off!

I too got a message saying that they will refund my card half the amount. Still, it's bad that we all had to catch them at doing this. What if we were ignorant of such things?

tomdkat, Amazon isn't going anywhere. They've got far too many investors to go down.

God help the internet if Amazon files for bankruptcy

I jumped on this Friday morning, and after reading this thread I called my bank and checked my account. They charged me the correct amount of $23.86, including shipping. I recieved the DVD yesterday.

This is no excuse for the rest of you who got screwed or misled. I have cancelled all outstanding orders with them...
