Problems with MovieSource.com/EntertainMe.com

I pre-ordered the new Die Hard Ultimate Collection at MovieSource.com (now known as EntertainMe.com) a good three weeks before release.

The problem starts when they send me Die Hard Five Star instead of the box set. I promptly sent it back and to this day, I have yet to get the correct shipment. That's almost two months after a PREORDER!

Has anyone else had any problems with them? I've repeatedly sent them e-mail and talked to their "special" live chat reps, but all they tell me is "give it another few days." The only reason I ordered from them is because someone had posted a deal they had for first-time customers (it's been so long I've already forgotten, but someone from this board posted the link). Normally I would just cancel the order and buy it someplace else, but my experience with online vendors thus far have been way below average. That and the fact that I don't want to risk switching from one bad thing to another, and most B&M stores near me have already reverted to MSRP.

Then again, my patience is running thin and soon I will lose all sanity and just spend the extra twenty bucks in Best Buy. Gee, I could only imagine which title it could've gone to...

Interesting, when I browsed their Security section, the following came up.

EntertainMe.com is a fully secured site, as your security is our utmost concern.
We are proud to be a VeriSign certified site, which is your assurance
that our security measures are fully in place.

Actually, the security here sucks. These fucking spammers have their HTTPD running as root, their Servlet engine is a joke to break, and their root password took my poor pathetic P200 all of 30 seconds to crack.
Rules of business in the dot com economy:
1) Don't use spam as a means of pumping your stock price
2) Hell, don't spam
3) Never, EVER do business with a spammer
4) Only hire clueful admins. I only got in here because the admins here broke EVERY SINGLE "BEST PRACTICE" ON THE NET!. I didn't use a "script", everything you need to break into this site is included for you in the URL. (Hint. This is why you DON'T run httpd as root
5) If you're considering doing business with these spammers, refer to rule #3

I wonder if their problem with hackers is a factor in their apparent difficulties as an online retailer. And if this is the case, I wonder why they don't bother shutting down the site until they iron things out, or at the very least, notify their customers of some possible setbacks.

[Edited out possible root password for this site. - Taxi]

Man, I know you're pissed, but did you really need to post their root pswd (assuming you weren't just bullshitting) here? That just isn't cool, not to mention the legal position it puts us in.

Think before you post, please.

Thanks.

I wasn't aware that was their root password, as you call it, but I assumed it was something else, namely the nick the hacker uses (based on a possible Gabriel Shear precursor).

In any case, it was not my intention to do such a thing, as I'm not one to cross that line. Moreover, I certainly don't want to cause this site any legal trouble and had I known better, I would have prevented said problem.

One has to wonder though, whether or not they've noticed it at all, with it being on their own website.

Whatever, I don't want to spend any more time on this, except to say that hacking a site that you have problems with is no solution to the problem. (I'm not pointing a finger at you here, I mean just in general.) Posting about problem sites here is a great idea. Information is a good thing. So thanks for that. But please lets leave the hacking to the 'l33t script kiddies, okay?
