McDonalds Monopoly game & Best Buy bucks 10/12-11/08/04

Looks like McDonalds is starting up their Monopoly promotional game again, working with partner Best Buy to offer the Best Buy bucks again.

Promotion runs from 10/12/04 to 11/08/04.

Here are the items that need to be purchased to get a Best Buy buck:

"a. In Restaurant. At participating McDonald's Restaurants:
i. One (1) Monopoly Game Piece, consisting of two Monopoly game stamps (each a "Game Stamp"), is attached to 21 oz. Medium and 32 oz. Large Drink Cups (sizes may vary by market and ounce designation refers to average contents) and Hash Brown Bags in the Territory.

ii. One (1) Best Buy Chance Piece (consisting of two Monopoly Game Stamps plus one Best Buy Chance Piece) is attached to 6 oz. Large Fry Cartons (sizes may vary by market and ounce designation refers to average contents) and 3-,5- and 10-piece Chicken Selects boxes in the United States. Best Buy Chance Pieces are not available in the Non-Domestic Market or at any McDonald's Restaurant located in a Wal-Mart®. "

And here's what can be won in terms of Best Buy gift cards or "bucks" that can be used towards a Best Buy purchase:

"If a Best Buy Chance Piece reveals a Best Buy Gift Card (denominations of $50, $100, $500 or $5,000), then the participant is the potential winner of a Best Buy Gift Card in the denomination indicated, subject to verification of the Best Buy Chance Piece (the "Winning Best Buy Chance Piece") and the participant's compliance with these Official Rules, including compliance with the redemption instructions in Rule 4. If a Best Buy Chance Piece reveals a Best Buy Buck (denominations of $1, $5 or $10), then the participant is the potential winner of Best Buy Buck(s) in the denomination indicated and can redeem the Best Buy Bucks by following the redemption instructions in Rule 4."

FYI: new rule. Apparently, there is a limit of $3 that can be applied to the pruchase of any single CD or DVD.

"To Redeem Best Buy Bucks at a Best Buy™ Retail Location: To use Best Buy Bucks (denominations of $1, $5 and $10) toward the purchase of Best Buy merchandise in store, present to the Best Buy cashier at the beginning of the transaction. Limit of $3 in Best Buy Bucks may be used toward the purchase of any single CD or DVD. Limit of $300 in Best Buy Bucks may be redeemed per customer per store visit (all visits to a store in the same day are deemed a single "visit".) Total purchase amount of merchandise (before taxes) must be equal to or greater than the cumulative total of Best Buy Bucks redeemed. Cannot redeem a Best Buy Buck for partial value. Cannot be used toward purchase of certain products and services, including but not limited to, Best Buy Gift Cards, video game hardware, tax, Maytag® Neptune™ washers and dryers, and Gemini™ ranges. There is also apparently an online game that can be played to win prizes also.

So no controllers or game pads and junk. That sucks.

But, in practice, it probably won't matter what you apply it towards. It will depend on the cashier whether or not you can use it, and most of them don't give a shit.

That doesn't ssem right to me. I wonder if they mean to say you can't use more than 3 $1 certificates on one DVD. Otherwise, this whole promotion will be another big flop by BB.

I went through a McDonald's drive-thru today to get a diet coke. I was upset to see that I get no BB bucks on the beverage. Therefore you must order food to get the coupons if you want them. Only fried foods have this. Bollocks. Noto isn't playing.

Yes, unfortunately, the drinks only have the Monopoly game pieces. Best Buy bucks are indeed only on the large fries carton and Chicken Select boxes.

Nah, I rather spend it on a DVD worth watching. I already know all of the common knowledge facts about fast food and won't eat fastfood 3 meals a day everyday like Morgan Spurlock did. I know how to eat a salad for balance out the fast food meals, and I know how to exercise and burn off calories.

Super Size Me is for the truly uneducated who don't have a clue. I only go to McDonalds when they run this promotion. I stay away from them for the rest of the year.

Last year I cleaned up in this promotion because several of the girls at my office ate there everyday and gave me their tickets. With the much less restrictive rules. I cleaned house.
