Haaaha my gamestop is so lame

They have a deal, trade 3 dvds and get spiderman 2, van helsing, shrek 2, and a couple others for free.

Anyways, my gamestop is right beside a dollar tree, i picked up 3 extremely lame war on terror documentaries (3 different ones) and took them in, (3 bucks is 3 bucks). and they accepted it.

i was like eff yes, 3 bucks for spiderman 2 lol

but yes, if you trade in 3 cheapo crappo movies, you get those for free ^ greeeeat bargain.

Hey this sounds llike a good deal to me. I think I will take advantage of it. Just one question though. Were the DVDs from Dollar Tree in plastic cases or cardboard ones?

Proj,

Lemme ask U this? Did they "scan" every title U gave 'em? or just accept 'em & no other questions asked?

Turns out I called my local Gamestop & they said the DVD we trade HAS to come up on THEIR computer in order to accept them and they would probably have to be major studio titles (MGM, Universal, etc)? No cheapy dollar store DVDs.

Shooo, I have a local Wal-mart that sales several DVDs for $1 (The Terror, Satanic Rites of Dracula & some others), but their in very thin keep cases. Wouldn't mind doing it, but I sure as heck don't wanna OWN those titles if they're unacceptable.

If U could let me know the titles U traded in, you'd save me a lot of trouble. Thanks Proj!

Hey Riddler. Just dont open the DVDs when you go to trade them in. If they don't take them just return them to the store.

This is what I plan to do. I just havent gotten around to it yet.

Even if Gamestop doesn't take them, you're only out 3 bucks.

Throw those suckers in the microwave.

i work at a gamestop, so im just gonna tell you guys not to expect that all gamestops will take these dvds back. whatever store he went to screwed up because no dvd is to be traded in unless it is inside the computer. i am almost positive the $1.00 dvds arent. also, they need to be produced by certian movie companies to be taken back.

you can try, but my guess if the gamestop even has a clue, they won't take them back.

I'll take your word on that since your a Gamestop employee. I do recall trying to trade some movies in back in the day & some ANCHOR BAY DVDs weren't even in their system! They're pretty stiff as to what they'll accept & what they won't!

Also, kinda off the DVD subject, but along the same lines...

I casually went to trade in some PS2 games at a Gamestop maybe 2 months ago & they were offering me $0.50 on some of them! I'd sooner GIVE THEM AWAY or DONATE 'EM, then get a measly $0.50! I can't even buy something off of the Wendy's $1 menu with that sh*t!

Just a "not-so-fond" memory involving Gamestop!

Sad thing is that people do it... I've been behind several idiots who who trade in a game for $.50, or even a PS2 for like $30.... I mean... come on.

I trade in sometimes... rarely... and only when it's something recent that I can get some money for. I traded in The Chronicles of Riddick right after I got it for like $30... close enough to ebay it's worth saving the trouble.

Also, before you bash Gamestop too much... realize they're actually BETTER than EBGames.

Blockbuster is running a pretty good deal right now, they'll take your dvd trade ins and they're $8 minimum. I had a couple DVDS I had bought on the cheap for like 2,3, and dollars that I bought solely for the purpose to trade in at the Warehouse. Some of them they didn't take, they were however taken at Blockbuster.
