The Criterion Collection Holiday 2004 Gift Set (Amazon.com Exclusive)

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...213902-3681669

Want to start your Criterion Collection and dont know where to start?
Here's a 208 title set (no Out Of Print titles of course).

Or if you are incredibly generous, get it as a gift to someone you love
(or me)

And it's eligible for Super Saver Shipping, thank goodness.

Can you imagine that shipping charge?

Probably the same ones who buy the $10,000 zeppelin from the Nieman Marcus catalogue.

I would buy the zeppelin... if it were only a mere $10,000.

208 DVDs for $5,250.00 is still around $25.24 per disc. Not exactly a bargain, even by Criterion standards.

As someone who started buying a ton of them for no real reason, I can promise you all that not every Criterion is worth owning... back away slowly.

I think they need to do more Director Collections... the Hitchcock and Renoir sets are awesome... how about a few more?

I agree with you Moogle. Just because it is criterion, doesn't mean it is worth owning. I think, with criterion's prices, it would be best to just pick and choose from their list. There is no need for every one. The one I REALLY want is The Killer. =[ The cheapest for which I have seen it sell is like 100 bucks. Makes me want to cry.

Yeah. Sometimes the extras blow....like when its just a whole lot of text......and, in the case of W.C. Fields DVDs, no extras at all.

Might as well buy them one at a time.
