I remember when they did the same promotion with Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (the 2-disc edition). I tried to get one, but they were all out, so I didn't do a test drive. I wonder what the chances are of getting the widescreen version of Shrek 2. I fear that fullscreen versions would show up in our mailboxes.

Man, that will be yet another artificial inflation of the fullscreen sales numbers. I wonder what gives?

Same thing as always. Consumers clearly prefer OAR, movie studios want to justify their fullscreen skus because those people who buy fullscreen now will likely rebuy once they get widescreen tvs. And they will be getting widescreen TVs. Push out the fullscreen freebies and use the sales numbers to justify the fullscreen shelf space at BestBuy.

I participated in it & after I sent the promo code in I emailed them (address is on the form) & asked what format it will be shipped in. I got a response saying that they do not know if it will be WS or FS. I figure it will be good sale or trade bait if it's FS. I'm getting it at BB or CC in WS Friday with an Eckerd Drugs $14.99 pm. I'll hold off on opening it though so that if they do send WS I can return it.

I was thinking about doing the test drive for the Shrek 2 DVD but now I'm not sure if I want to since we don't know if the DVD will be FS or WS. I think I'll most likely just buy the DVD.
