The Disclaimer
Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

"LP" in the RoundUp table means a store’s Sunday flyer says "Low Price". That means I could not locate a definite price for the item, and the ad is all I have to go on. Retailers use these phrases in advertisements so that they do not violate MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) agreements with the studios. Doing so can cost them thousands or even millions of dollars in co-op advertising funds.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, as always, Circuit City does not guarantee their sale prices in Hawaii.

The Specials

**BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL! House of Wax (2005) is available in both OAR and MAR versions...get the correct one(s) !

--Best Buy is rolling out some incredible prices for members of its RewardZone Program! The Sunday flyer clearly shows that both the 2-disc Wizard of Oz AND RIZE are both going to be offered for just $12.99 for RewardZoners ($16.99 otherwise). That is going to be a very tough price to beat! Now, as is often the case, in the flyer…those two titles have been strategically placed next to three other titles which are also carrying the price this week of $16.99—Herbie: Fully Loaded, Bewitched (2005) and House of Wax (2005). While the yellow price tags which denote the special Reward Zone price do NOT come in direct contact with the cover photos for those other three titles, I would NOT be surprised at all to learn that those titles also qualify for the RZ discount. Time will tell!

--A number of EXCLUSIVES from Best Buy this week: The first features 3rd Rock from the Sun. The BB copies have exclusive bonus content including 13 minutes of extended bloopers and Sally’s best outtakes.

--Best Buy is also promoting on its copies of Tripping the Rift: Season 1: Exclusive content including an unrated, never-before-aired version of the premiere episode os Season 2.

--And, finally, Best Buy is advertising on Street Figher Alpha: Generations: Exclusive music and interview.

--Jennifer Garner fans can save $10, instantly, when you buy Alias: Season 4 ($39.99) along with EITHER Alias: Seasons 2 OR 3 ($42.99 each).Must be purchased on same receipt. No rainchecks.

--Lindsay Lohan and Dean Jones fans (and you know you’re out there. Don’t be ashamed to admit it! ) can save $5, instantly, with the purchase of Herbie: Fully Loaded ($16.99) and the Love Bug ($14.99). Also, must be purchased on same receipt. No rainchecks.

--Not to be outdone (except maybe on that RZ price for the 2-disc Wizard of Oz!)…Circuit City is rolling out a bunch of deals this week.

--To start, Circuit City is including a bonus disc with its copies of Bewitched (2005) which contains three episodes from the Bewitched TV show.

--Circuit City also has a deal on Alias season sets. Save $10 with the purchae of Alias: Season 4 ($39.99) and EITHER Alias: Seasons 2 OR 3 OR Lost: Season 1. In-store only. Purchases must be on same receipt.

--Circuit City also has a FREE CD/DVD Wallet to give away with its copies of Herbie: Fully Loaded. In store only. While supplies last. Minimum 24 per store. Styles vary by store.

--Target has a couple of its GiftCard offers this week. A FREE $10 giftcard with the purchase of BOTH Bewitched (2005 AND Bewitched: Season 2. Also, a $5 GiftCard with the purchase of L Word: Season 2. GiftCard automatically given at register. No rainchecks.

This week all I really want is Alias Season Four (strictly because I'm a completest), and The Wizard Of Oz, though I don't know if I want the two disk or three disk version. I'd love the three disk, but I don't know if I want to pay twice the money for it. We'll see...

Anyway, thanks Freezer!

Reaver: You're welcome!

I'm with you. As much as I would LOVE the Wizard of Oz 3-disc...I think I'll settle for the 2-disc for $12.99 RZ price at Best Buy. I've got some BB bucks...and I'll get me some RZ points for that and Titanic. That's where I'll be headin' Tuesday.

Yeah, the three disc would be great, but I hardly ever watch supplimentals more than once, so twice the price is too much. The two-disker is it!

I would love to get both Titanic and Wizard of Oz this week, but alas, as I have feared, October 18 burned right through all of my cash just from Batman Begins Deluxe and Tarzan (and I didn't even get half of what I wanted last week.) Sooo, regretably, both Titanic AND Oz will have to wait regardless of how cheap they are (can't believe 3-disc Titanic going for less $18 at CC!) Hopefully I can get them before the year is out (maybe some nice Black Friday deals?)

Thanks anyway Freezer as always -- good work!

I just looked at the Best Buy flyer here and it doesn't say anything about there being any special Reward Zone price on any discs this week. I checked the version online as well and it doesn't say anything about $12.99 Reward Zone pricing on any titles either. So I wouldn't run out to Best Buy looking for this pricing.
A few good ones to buy this week: Alias S4, Looney Tunes Golden Collection Vol. 3, Dominion, Last Days and Concert for Bangladesh.

In some other forums, I have seen people posting that the 12.99 RZ price for Oz (2-disk) is regional -- some say their ad has it - others say no. Now IIRC, something like this happened before and the price still rang up as that lower RZ price for RZ members even though the ad did not state it. Unfortunately extremely YMMV

My ad did NOT have the 12.99 price -- I'm hoping Fry's or FYE (I may be forced to cut the UPC here ) will come through.

Too funny. I did a double take. My name is Dean Jones. And, yes, I am a fan.

I live in the Cleveland area and the $12.99 prices were in the online ad. I know I haven't decided if it's the 3 disc Wizard or 2 disc with that awesome price.

It's a Titanic week for me, with Tales From The Crypt: Season 2. This has been a huge October.

Mine didn't either, and when I picked it up today it wasn't reduced in price. Sucks...

Select horror titles are $7.99 I believe w/ RZ

edit: Between Batman, Batman Begins, He-Man, Titanic and Looney Tunes, plus Star Wars next week I don't know if I'll be able to watch everything in time before 30 day return expiration in case of bad discs!!

Got Looney Tunes Golden Collection Volume 3 at Sams Club for just $33.88.

Great price considering I paid over $50 each for the first two volumes

After much thinking I have decided Titanic is not a movie I need to own. Wizard of Oz too.

I'll pick up Tales from the Crypt and Alias Season 4 eventually, but I still have not gotten the previous sets of either.

As a reward Zone member I got Wizard Of Oz for $12.99

I also picked up The Exorcist and Poltergeist for $7.99.

I was trying to also purchase The Lost Boys for $7.99 and the only copies that Best Buy had was the 2 disk special edition that was priced at $24.99! I went to the register with that disk and asked about the special price and it would not go through as it is only for the previous Dvd release so I had to get a raincheck for it, I was pretty pissed about it since it wasn't listed in the flier that it was for the original release only but whatever.
