25 bucks for the War Of The Worlds 2-disc...
Still, having the entire screenplay in the free Best Buy book is pretty awesome. ![]()

Lots this week!
I'm going to buy the regular 2-disc King Kong blind at Target, and save War of the Worlds LE and a Polar Express blind buy for later. I liked WOTW a lot but never felt a pull to go see it a second time in theaters, compared to usually wanting to see things two or three times on the big screen, so that says something to me about the urgency (or lack thereof) of my getting the disc. And if I had a few less things to get this season, I'd probably rush out for it, in such a packed quarter and with the pushing-their-luck expensive 2-disc...it can wait. But I have never seen King Kong and am looking forward to being wowed by it. Obviously it's not going to hold a candle to stuff I'm used to seeing these days but I find nothing wrong with old movies; if it's a good movie, it's a good movie. And so I will own King Kong.

I've never seen the original Kong either. I wasn't going to pick it up, but at $14.99 from Target it's too hard to resist. The Ray Harryhausen and Ken Ralston commentary is probably worth the price alone. So I'm thinking I'll go ahead and get it now.

Looks like I'll be price-matching the sweet Target prices for WOTW '53 and Kong '33 at Best Buy.
