Target is showing a price of $24.99 underneath this DVD cover in its flyer:  THAT is the TWO-VOLUME Gunsmoke 50th Anniversary set which is listing at $50+ in all other locations. The individual volume set covers are very different:   --Circuit City is also having a 2-day-only sale on Sunday & Monday…featuring $13.99 titles such as Herbie: Fully Loaded, Madagascar, War of the Worlds (2005), Star Wars Ep. 3 RotS, Dukes of Hazzard (NR), and March of the Penguins. Fantastic Four and Island are both listed as “Low Price” but I would suspect they may go for $13.99, too.  --The releases, this week, of Stuart Little all feature a “sneak peek” at Stuart Little 3 (scheduled for DVD release next month). --The new Dumb & Dumber release is being promoted as a never-before-seen unrated version which includes 8-minutes of new footage plus all-new bonus features. --Best Buy, this week, if offering a promotion with The Wedding Crashers: Uncorked. Buy The Wedding Crashers: Uncorked and ANY ONE of the following DVD and get BOTH for $20!: The Mask (Jim Carrey), The Wedding Singer, Austin Powers, Starsky & Hutch, Ace Ventura pet Detective, and Harold & Kumar Go to the White Castle. Thanks Freezer! Broken Flowers, Wedding Crashers and All in the Family S5 for me this week, all at Best Buy. Though I might pop out to Circuit City today to take advantage of that $13.99 sale. I never did pick up the new War of the Worlds and that's not too bad a price for it.

Starting off 2006 with Broken Flowers this week at Best Buy to take advantage of their $2 cheaper price tag than everywhere else. Nice to see the Roundup starting off 2006 just as well-done as last year. Happy New Year all, and as usual, thanks Freezer for puting all your hard work into doing this for us. Very much appriciaqted.

I was in Circuit City this morning and the price on The Island and Fantastic Four for the 2 day sale was indeed $13.99. So if you're so inclined to purchase one of those two film, the price is pretty good. Personally I'm waiting on Fantastic Four as I'm sure Fox will double dip with an extended version in a few months.

Gang: Word to me is:
--the new Stuart Little packages are all MAR. Stay away! **EDIT!! The packages with SL 2 are okay. They include the WS version. However, the packages with SL 1 have only a FS version.  --and, Target is not even going to carry the two-volume Gunsmoke apparently. A store employee has told me that stores are only going to stock Volume 1...and won't even have Volume 2 on-hand...let alone the two-volume set. So, I guess, as expected, the too-good-to-be-true-deal is too-good-to-be-true after all!  Last edited by Freezer : 01-04-2006 at 05:42 AM. |
