I am seeing this more as what Anchor Bay could release on Blu-ray. There are a lot of TV shows and a few movies I would buy in bd. I'd like to see Heathers, and Kentucky Fried Movie in high def.

Assuming they spend the money to do a proper conversion. But so far, there isn't much DVD material that I feel the need to replace/upgrade...HD or not.

I saw KENTUCKY in the theaters at least a couple times when it was first out, under good conditions ... believe me, you don't need it to be any sharper. A lot of it looked like badly-shot 16mm or 16mm reversal back then, and nothing is going to improve that, unless by improve you mean you just want to see more image defects.

A lot of those titles are really low budget and just aren't going to have the wow factor in HD. And they're known for just rehashing their bad dvd transfers on bluray (see Evil Dead II's edge enhancement or Halloween's incorrect color).
