I'll go ahead and do a new poll each week.
As long as you all promise to do more than one sentence responses in the discussion threads. ![]()

If I may still suggest a poll... How about one for action films?
Things like: Hard Boiled The Killer Face/Off (yeah I like Woo, leave me alone) Seven Samurai Leon Matrix(that's a stretch) The Wild Bunch Crouching Tiger Boondock Saints(please) Something we could discuss mostly for its action choreography and cinematography rather than its thematic values(in some cases). Just a thought. As for regular suggestions. I'd like to see a Road to Perdition discussion. ps. A War movie poll would also be neat. Anyone interested?

I would like to see a discussion week about Starship Troopers please. There is more to that film than most people think.
Pretty please with a Blizzard on top?

If it has not been mentioned already,
I would like to see a discussion here about the technical and thematic aspects of Robert Redford-directed films...particularly
Ordinary People and Quiz Show.

A few suggestions:
The Andromeda Strain: Still my pick for the best pure hard-SF movie ever. Stagecoach: A seminal western, directed by John Ford and John Wayne's big break. What other reasons do we need? The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance: Another very influential Western. Aliens: We've already done the first one, and some regard this film as one of the few genre sequels to actually surpass the original. The Maltese Falcon: Bogie's big break and the film that practically invented the Noir genre. The Abyss: Theatrical or director's cut. Is one better than the other or do they both suck ass?

True... a 'misunderstood' film if there ever was one. There is a lot to be said for this flick... although, it is only a selfish request on my part because I have had some relative success converting people with this flick. I also want to throw my votes in for: The Exorcist Goodfellas Big Night Victory Seaching For Bobby Fischer (if they haven't been done already - I'm new )
