Christopher Lee: 10/19/03 - 10/25/03
Just as a change of pace, and at your request, we are discussing bodies of works by a particular actor or director. Let's see how you like this!
So -- let's compare and contrast early works by the same director, discuss film techniques and choice of cinematographer or composer, what have you. Because it's October, I've picked two of my favorite 'neo-classic' horror movie stars, and two very intriguing horror movie directors. So don't forget to add what makes them so scary. Run wild, shall we? Discuss! Christopher Lee -- How can anyone sum up this actor's great body of work? I mean, according to imdb he "Is listed as the Center of the Hollywood Universe by the Oracle of Kevin Bacon web site at the University of Virginia, because he can be linked to any one in Hollywood on average in 2.59 steps. That is less than either Charlton Heston or Kevin Bacon himself." Lee has played Dracula, the Frankenstein monster, the Mummy, and many devil-worshipers and other heavies. He is listed on imdb as an inch taller than Vincent Price (who was 6'4") and he shares the same birth date (May 27) as Price. They appeared together in "Scream and Scream Again", "The Oblong Box" (both 1969) and "House of the Long Shadows" (1983).
