Great movie, I really enjoyed Dwight Yoakam'S performance, he played a total prick perfectlyna d of the course the late graet John Ritter geat as well, RIP

Yah, i saw this film for the first time a few weeks ago and was realy blown away. The best seen is defanetly the opening when good 'ole Billy Bob is telling his story.

This is certainly one of my favorite movies, (and perhaps one of the most quotable as well), and I went out and bought the dvd almost immediately after the first time I saw it, (On Bravo, I think, could be wrong).

Thorton's best work. I think he has gone down hill since there. Some of his latest roles like in Intolerable Cruelty and Love Actually were horrendous.

i would agree bantam. "sling blade" did capture billy bob's best performance. "friday night lights" was pretty good on his part, but nothing compares to the amazing performance he did in "sling blade." i liked it, and also the boy in "sling blade" reappeared in "friday night lights."
