.

DanishDVDfreak says :
Its been a long time since I saw Pulp Fiction
surfingelectrode says :
A month or too for me.
DanishDVDfreak says :
Im gonna have to say over a year...maybe even 2 years
DanishDVDfreak says :
i think I saw it again when I got the 2 disc CE
surfingelectrode says :
Great movie. But like Reservoir Dogs, once you see it, you know what's going to happen the next time. When you rewatch RD, you know that the cop is going to get his ear cut off, and you know that Mr. Orange is the undercover, so it isn't really a rewatchable movie.
DanishDVDfreak says :
I think it is...just for the great dialog
DanishDVDfreak says :
But the surprise is gone
They should invent a "brain-resetter" for movies
EM3 says :
I bought RD just to round out the collection
surfingelectrode says :
9:00.
DanishDVDfreak says :
So u could flick a switch and forget all about the movie u were about to see
When are we going to start?
DVDfile chat night-please change your name to whatever it is on the boards and change your font to MS SERIF 8 BOLD says:
in about 60 seconds?
surfingelectrode says :
K.
DVDfile chat night-please change your name to whatever it is on the boards and change your font to MS SERIF 8 BOLD says:
wow, packed house, compared to last week. happy to see everyone here
esc says :
Welcome everyone! Please change your MSN name to whatever your name is on the boards, just so everyone knows who everyone is. Also, to make it easier to differentiate between names and what is being said, please change your font to MS SERIF 8 BOLD.
esc says :
If i should dissapear suddenly because my computer crashed or anything, and you are all booted out of the chat room, just keep watching and I will get back online ASAP. i have the film running simultaniously on my other computer in the next room
esc says :
and because this laptop's screen has been know to die suddenly I have a backup monitor sitting beside me hooked up to the laptop... yes i am a firm believer in overkill.
DanishDVDfreak says :
hehe
DanishDVDfreak says :
*cough* nerd *cough*
esc says :
ya ultra nerd!!
I've got my doritos, pretzels, donuts, pizza, 2 litres of brita filtered water and i've had a pee break ... lets go!
esc says :
hit play in 30 seconds. everyone ready to go?
DanishDVDfreak says :
yup
EM3 says :
yep
surfingelectrode says :
yep
esc says :
go in 10 ...
esc says :
5
esc says :
GO!
esc says :
Miramax .....
DanishDVDfreak says :
I got Mimamax too. hehe
surfingelectrode says :
DEFINITION ...
surfingelectrode says :
I love the way the movie is structured.
You begin in the middle, go to the beginning, then to the end, then back to the beginning, up to the middle.
esc says :
Orange seats
DanishDVDfreak says :
When I saw the poster for this and it had the "winner of Palm Dīor" on it, I said I wouldnīt watch it...Thought it was an artsy fartsy movie
EM3 says :
Went into it blind the first time I saw it and was blown away
DanishDVDfreak says :
Yeah, me too when I saw it
esc says :
i saw this a couple month after Res Dogs so i was a big QT fan
surfingelectrode says :
Liked Kill Bill, got interested, then bought RD, PF, and JB (my personal fav) blind.
surfingelectrode says :
Because... KILL BILL ROCKS!!!
DanishDVDfreak says :
Im a big fan of Jackie Brown too...De Niro as a stoner hehe
EM3 says :
Least fav was RD
surfingelectrode says :
I rarely watch RD.
surfingelectrode says :
After KBV2 came out on DVD, I had nothing to do for the weekend, so I watched it and V1 about 20 times.
esc says :
0:1:00 this is interestingly shot... compare it to the scene at the end ... these 2 (punkin and honey buny) are in agreement with each other, compare it to the scene at the end with Vincent and Jules at the table the way its shot. the camera is all over the place here, Jules and vincent dont agree with each other so the camera has them in profile faceing each other down
surfingelectrode says :
I dunno if you all heard about it, but there is this theory I saw on IMDB, about a possible connection between this movie and Kill Bill.
DanishDVDfreak says :
Really ?
surfingelectrode says :
That "Fox Force Five" was like the DiVAs in KB
surfingelectrode says :
Like Mia said her character was the master of swords...
esc says :
... ANY OF YOU FUCKING PRICKS MOVE .... KABOOM love how this just pounds out of the speakers.
the sound just pounds out of the speakers, its like you're in the restaurant and this girl stands up at the table beside you ... and BOOM youre hit with the shock of the robbery/an assault of sound
DanishDVDfreak says :
Best song EVER!
surfingelectrode says :
And in Kill Bill, she pretty much kicks ass with swords..
esc says :
i like the fox force five thing in Spice girls
esc says :
0:6:30 changing staions...
DanishDVDfreak says :
I like the thing where characters are in different movies...Like Keatons character in Jackie Brown is in Out Of Sight
esc says :
oh ya! cool. never realized that b4
surfingelectrode says :
I loved Phil Lamarr as Marvin, who was on MadTV in the first couple of seasons. On the first episode, they did "Gump Fiction", Forrest Gump mixed in with Pulp, and he played Marvin again on it.
DanishDVDfreak says :
I was like "What ?? COOL" when I saw it
surfingelectrode says :
I knew the whole Foxy Brown / Jackie Brown thing.
esc says :
Royale Wit Cheese
surfingelectrode says :
Royale With Cheese.
DanishDVDfreak says :
Its almost like QT and Kevin Smith writes dialog a lot alike I think...u know, real natural as people would talk
DanishDVDfreak says :
Hey...Question...How many times must Travolta have thanked QT for ressurecting his career ?
surfingelectrode says :
I post frequently on Kevin Smith's message board... he's a really great guy.
surfingelectrode says :
... Entering the apartment building.
EM3 says :
But the restaurant scene grabbed me and kept me involved like KB
esc says :
Kevin Smith dialogue is good... for movies, but in the real world people dont talk in super long monologues
surfingelectrode says :
I do...sometimes
DanishDVDfreak says :
Yeah...I know...But dont u think they write dialog like each other ?
surfingelectrode says :
I guess that's what happens when someone becomes bored.
esc says :
0:12:00 who here would give me a foot massage?
esc says :
i guess they are kinda similar in some ways now that you mention it
DanishDVDfreak says :
I dont want these guys to knock on my door...
esc says :
0:13:00 LOOOVE this shot. so much tension because at any second you think that its going to cut to close ups of them
DanishDVDfreak says :
I like that they are so punctual hehe
esc says :
the camera is staying there because something that will change their lives is going to happen in there... or something to that effect
EM3 says :
Foreshadowing
esc says :
0:13:50 more of not seeing their faces
esc says :
0:14:25 PHIL!
surfingelectrode says :
Here's Marvin.
EM3 says :
What hamburger joint is open for business at 8am none around here
esc says :
and ... enter the imps ....
DanishDVDfreak says :
They should make Big Kahuna Burger
esc says :
everything is open 24hrs in LA
esc says :
ive tried that... hamburgers are awesome with teriaki and pinepple rings
surfingelectrode says :
Tarantino and Smith could make a killing with Big Kahuna Burger, Teriyaki Donut, and Moobys
DanishDVDfreak says :
I love how creepy Jackson is here
esc says :
he IS a badass muthafucker
surfingelectrode says :
Love the hair..
esc says :
damn, i should have gotten some sprite to drink with this movie
DanishDVDfreak says :
Hair is great...reminds me of "Soul Glo" from Coming To America hehe
EM3 says :
He rarely blinks on camera
esc says :
some people have said that they saw the bullet holes already in the wall in the back when they walk in in some prints of the film.
surfingelectrode says :
Here comes the suitcase.
EM3 says :
I read the same thing
surfingelectrode says :
666
surfingelectrode says :
I know what's inside....
esc says :
yup.. dont say tho
EM3 says :
WHAT!
DanishDVDfreak says :
That would break MY concentration...
surfingelectrode says :
Does he look like a bitch?!
EM3 says :
Better run!
surfingelectrode says :
In the screenplay, before we cut to Vince and Jules going to the bar, we see the man coming out of the bathroom.
surfingelectrode says :
But they changed it.
esc says :
that would have been cool , having that guy come out, then cut to the next scene and leave us until the end of the movie wondering WTF?
surfingelectrode says :
I have the screenplay right next to me.
esc says :
0:21:00 bye bret ... its amazing that for such a violent film that there is actually little or no on screen violence. you never actually see a wound when bret is shot, nothing happens 'in camera' you never see someone getting blown away or stabbed
surfingelectrode says :
brb pee break >_>
DanishDVDfreak says :
Like the scene in Scarface
DanishDVDfreak says :
Some said it was WAY to violent...but U dont see anything but a little blood
EM3 says :
Your mind is more graphic than the camera ever could be
surfingelectrode says :
Back.
surfingelectrode says :
The whole S&M screne kinda creeps me out... >_>
surfingelectrode says :
its Mental violence.
DanishDVDfreak says :
Oh yeah...the S&M scene freaked me out
surfingelectrode says :
I never liked this part.
surfingelectrode says :
It's boring to me.
esc says :
i have thought QT is like Hitchcock in alot of ways and thats one ... he doesnt let you see stuff and lets your mind make up whats not on screen... he learned alot from the audience reaction to the 'ear scene' in Res Dogs. his scripts are also written in the same way that shakespeare wrote plays... there is no description of what the characters are doing from shot to shot, there is just a general location given and then massive ammounts of dialogue and he lets the actors interpret what the charaters would be doing while talking.
DanishDVDfreak says :
Yeah...some of the best scenes of horror is when its all in your head
surfingelectrode says :
I don't like a lot of the stuff with Butch. Like all the stuff with the girlfriend, it's just boring to me.
esc says :
0:22:30 the old bandaid hehehh
DanishDVDfreak says :
Well...In Kill Bill u kinda see violence hehe
esc says :
0:25:00 hey its 'pinky' from Four Rooms
surfingelectrode says :
I long for a R1 unrated cut of Kill Bill.
DanishDVDfreak says :
I got the jap boxes for both Vol 1 and 2
esc says :
0:25:45 that was 1 badass stare
EM3 says :
Ok Red Apples are in this one and in KB we see a ad for them do they make an appearance in his other movies
esc says :
ya, there are some cereals and other products that cross over QT movies
esc says :
and Clooney gets Big Kahuna burgers in From Dusk Til Dawn
surfingelectrode says :
Teriyaki Donut
surfingelectrode says :
In PF and JB
surfingelectrode says :
Foreshadowing the heroin scene with Mia here... I love it.
surfingelectrode says :
The shot that I abhor is coming up. I love horror movies, but it is hard for me to take needles. Vince injecting himself with the heroin in PF. Renn piercing Nikki's ears during the sex scene in Videodrome. I just can't really take it very easily. I don't throw up or anything, it just makes me feel a little sick.
EM3 says :
I'm glad they cut part of this speech out of this scene about the car.
esc says :
oh, something that was mentioned in another thread was that it was implied that Bruce Willis was the one that keyed his car... thsats why there is a closeup of the keys in the bike later
surfingelectrode says :
The bike thing ? those were Zed's keys though
EM3 says :
Wasn't the Z for Zed?
esc says :
ya, its a bit of a stretch to connect the 2, but it makes sense that it was Bruce that did it
surfingelectrode says :
Then look in the background at the KILLIAM RED sign. Part of it is blacked out, so it says KILL ED. Add the Z, and you get KILL ZED.
surfingelectrode says :
Ah, god, it's coming up.
esc says :
i just never realized it b4
DanishDVDfreak says :
So Bruce keyed Vinces car when after they met in the bar before ?
esc says :
thats the theory, after they had their little face down at the bar
DanishDVDfreak says :
nice
surfingelectrode says :
The thing I find funny is that the CE comes with a Jackrabbit Slim's menu, but none of the stuff they order is in it!
DanishDVDfreak says :
Yeah...Mine didnīt come with it...I had to order it hehe
DanishDVDfreak says :
It was free though
esc says :
warmer, warmer ... DISCO! ok who thought that the 70's belonged in the 90's?
surfingelectrode says :
There was a completely different version of this scene. ...Where Mia is changing clothes, and Vince see's her back, and she tells him to make a drink and wait.
Then the whole interview scene.
EM3 says :
My wife passed on a chance to eat at Jack Rabbit Slims
DanishDVDfreak says :
Stoner Travolta. hehe
esc says :
i like the TV version of this scene with Mia and her camera before they leave the house
esc says :
where she interviews him and you get the impression she has a wall of these tapes with guys her husband has had take her out
surfingelectrode says :
It's on the DVD.
esc says :
nod you still never see her face until this scene in the car
surfingelectrode says :
The whole Marvin car scene was orginally different too. Vince shoots him in the throat, and he is still alive, and then Jules honks the horn as VInce shoots him again to "put him out of his misery". It was Travolta's idea to change it.
esc says :
ahh, ya. that would have been much more violent . i remember hearing about that
surfingelectrode says :
0:35:40 Not sure if you all noticed it, but the suit Mia is wearing now is worn by Pam Grier in Jackie Brown during the money exchange.
DanishDVDfreak says :
really ? cool
surfingelectrode says :
It's the one she tries on.
EM3 says :
I'll have to check it out... The blue one ?
surfingelectrode says :
The black one with the white.
surfingelectrode says :
There's Lawrence Bender as Zorro.
esc says :
0:36:39 wow, smoking in a restaurant
EM3 says :
Can smoke in restaurants here
DanishDVDfreak says :
Buscemi as the waiter. He is soo cool
surfingelectrode says :
Looks the same here, but with no Sirk Steak, or Kirby Burger.
DanishDVDfreak says :
the 5 dollar milk shake is in there
surfingelectrode says :
Just saw on IMDB... "When Vincent calls Lance on his cell phone, Lance is eating a bowl of Fruit Brute, a cereal from the older monster cereal family. Fruit Brute (which, along with Yummy Mummy, Frankenberry, Boo Berry, and Count Chocula, make up the monster cereals) was later discontinued, along with "Yummy Mummy." Quentin Tarantino has held onto a box and drops it into scenes from time to time.
surfingelectrode says :
and... "Mia calls Vincent "cowboy" - John Travolta starred in Urban Cowboy (1980). Vincent calls Mia "cowgirl" in return; Uma Thurman starred in Even Cowgirls Get the Blues (1993)."
esc says :
wow. each scene at a table in this movie is shot differently
surfingelectrode says :
One thing I never understood how it is done is how when two characters are across from each other, how do they switch the camera while one character is still talking? Do they do two takes, one from each angle?
esc says :
0:40:00 ya, several takes are done with each actor saying the same lines over and over and the camera is put in different positions so they can edit it later
DanishDVDfreak says :
Some uses multiple camera setups
surfingelectrode says :
Ah, thanks.
DanishDVDfreak says :
I saw a pilot once when I was visiting Hollywood in 1994
surfingelectrode says :
Fuck is used approximatly 271 times in PF.
esc says :
hehe.. thanks IMDB-man
esc says :
that is one of the first sites i ever found online
DanishDVDfreak says :
lol
surfingelectrode says :
I love IMDB, it's such a great site.
Le Chuck says : says:
best site on the internet
esc says :
South Park The Movie gets the award for most profanity though
DanishDVDfreak says :
Would Travolta be in movies still if it hadnīt been for Pulp Fiction ? Thoughts
EM3 says :
Probably but as a bit actor
DanishDVDfreak says :
Im sure glad heīs still around
DanishDVDfreak says :
He have made some crappy movies though
Le Chuck says :
he was making a lot of crap before PF
DanishDVDfreak says :
true
EM3 says :
Yeah but he took a big quality hit with Face Off
esc says :
QT had to fight to even let them let Travolta try out for the part, so i think hollywood had flushed him
surfingelectrode says :
Hey, esc. I just read this, and it was what you were saying: When Vince visits Lance for the first time he is complaining about some jerk that supposedly keyed his car. It was allegedly Butch's revenge for the argument the two had when early on they met at Marsellus's club.
DanishDVDfreak says :
I donīt think Battlefield is THAT bad...worst movie ever ? No way
surfingelectrode says :
That title belongs to Superbabies.
esc says :
no way! Batman And Robin Dude.. followed by House of 1000 corpses and then Mortal Kombat 2
surfingelectrode says :
I read in a Tarantino book that he convinced Travolta by taking him to his apartment and playing like the Grease board game, and boardgames that had Travolta in them.
DanishDVDfreak says :
I like how QT brings in "old" actors who allready had their "prime"
esc says :
that happened alot in Jackie Brown
esc says :
0:46:55 They used this clip from uma to play during the oscars when she was nominated for best supporting actress, and it got quite a laugh
esc says :
i wanna dance i wanna win i want that trophy
DanishDVDfreak says :
And JT gets to dance too hehe
surfingelectrode says :
Tarantino was dancing with them while filming. he choreographed the whole thing
esc says :
0:48:00 i always loved this song . my parents had this on 45 and i was blown away when this came on in PF
Le Chuck says : says:
who else has the soundtrack?
esc says :
ME ME ME!
surfingelectrode says :
Me too.
surfingelectrode says :
I hear QT is going to do a Mandarin Action flick next.
surfingelectrode says :
Damn! My disc keeps skipping.
DanishDVDfreak says :
I do too...Jackie Brown soundtrack too
EM3 says :
Soundtrack here
surfingelectrode says :
I like the S&M scene's song.
Le Chuck says : says:
QT always chooses the greatest music
Le Chuck says : says:
I have his socks! they are exactly the same!
surfingelectrode says :
After Kill Bill, a bunch of TV ads are using it's music. Like the 5-6-7-8's songs from the movie.
surfingelectrode says :
And Battle Without Honor or Humanity in that car ad.
esc says :
nod. the 5 6 7 8's were just a coinsidence that they made it in to kill bill though.
EM3 says :
Who sang the original version of Woo Hoo ?
surfingelectrode says :
I never heard of the 5,6,7,8s or BEFORE before KB
DanishDVDfreak says :
Dance related: I read somewhere that Christopher Walken has a note in his contracts they says he HAS to get a chance to dance and he HAS to have his hair look fucked up if he wants
Le Chuck says : says:
so did anyone else hear the theory that they actually stole the trophy ... and that you can hear a news report on the radio or something
Le Chuck says : says:
is that true?
surfingelectrode says :
In the original screenplay, they don't do a competition, they just dance for fun.
esc says :
thats true about christopher walken, he is a great dancer and did the FatBoy Slim video to get some of his moves on tape before he was too old
DanishDVDfreak says :
I read it some years ago...and he almost always dances and have fucked up hair
surfingelectrode says :
He was great in True Romance.
DanishDVDfreak says :
Walken rules...Heīs SO good in everything
surfingelectrode says :
He and Dennis Hopper in the Sicilian speech.
esc says :
i thought Catch me if You Can was his best work
surfingelectrode says :
Loved that movie.
surfingelectrode says :
Here come's the heroin.
DanishDVDfreak says :
And in a scene in Catch Me If U can, he started crying out of nowhere, and all of the cast and Spielberg was like "what the f***" ... I dont remember if the scene was used though
esc says :
0:53:54 poor mia
EM3 says :
U think she could tell the difference between H and Coke
surfingelectrode says :
Nasty.
DanishDVDfreak says :
Yeah...but she realized it too late
Le Chuck says : says:
she only realized it because her face exploded
surfingelectrode says :
Skipping on this disc is annoying as hell.
surfingelectrode says :
Fruit Brute cereal in the drig dealer apt.
Le Chuck says : says:
what movie is this that he's watching?
esc says :
dunno... anyone know the black and white film? or the motorcycle movie that comes up later.
EM3 says :
That cereal is new to me
DanishDVDfreak says :
0:55:44 This gotta be the longest "phone ringing scene" hehe
EM3 says :
0:56:45 So much for the car
Le Chuck says : says:
or the house
esc says :
0:57:00 i love how that crash comes exclusively from the left speaker
Le Chuck says : says:
operation and the game of life! ... operation must be difficult after using heroin
esc says :
0:58:00 ha! ya, i noticed that the board games were in the living room about the 10th time i saw this.
DanishDVDfreak says :
Yeah...u shoudnīt operate when u are stoned
surfingelectrode says :
What's with the christmas lights on the lamp?
This was done in reverse.
EM3 says :
Explain reverse
surfingelectrode says :
As in, they shot him pulling the needle out, then reversed the film
EM3 says :
gotcha
Le Chuck says : says:
they did a good job with that
esc says :
1:00:30 once again we dont actually see the needle in the heart, just a dull thump
Le Chuck says : says:
you can't tell its in reverse
DanishDVDfreak says :
U can be surprised at how they shoot things and make simple shots look fantastic
esc says :
that would be much safer then stabbing at Uma at full speed
EM3 says :
My mind is slowing down I get up at 5am and I've been up for17hrs
surfingelectrode says :
Apparently, if someone is ODing, you inject them with saltwater, not adrenaline, but QT wanted it to be more exciting.

Tomdkat has joined the conversaion

Tomdkat says :
What UP!!!!!
DanishDVDfreak says :
But in Mission Impossible 2 ( I think), that knife that comes VERY close to Tom Cruises eye is at full speed !
esc says :
ya, with tom they had it on a cable and he totally put his trust in the director and stunt set up guys
DanishDVDfreak says :
Yeah...how freaky is that ?
Le Chuck says : says:
i wonder why he chose the ketchup joke of all the millions of bad jokes out there
surfingelectrode says :
Here begins the part of the movie I just do not like.
DanishDVDfreak says :
U dont like the watch in his ass part ?? ... Its priceless !
surfingelectrode says :
I don't like most of the Butch stuff
Tomdkat says :
I think it's kinda funny...
Le Chuck says : says:
Butch is my second favorite character
DanishDVDfreak says :
This is just about my favourite part
surfingelectrode says :
The watch thing is funny, but I don't like the stuff with the girlfriend.
DanishDVDfreak says :
plus sheīs a little whiny
Le Chuck says : says:
and probably my favorite sequence in the film
Tomdkat says :
Second to whom?
DanishDVDfreak says :
Yeah...the girlfriend stuff is a little slow
Le Chuck says : says:
THE Wolfe!
esc says :
ya, its something that seems to happen outside the main story, but the Marcellus Wallace soul/redemtion angle comes into play with the Butch story when Butch saves him and Marcellus lets him go and gets his soul back
Tomdkat says :
Ok, how many are listening to the dts audio and how many to the DD audio?
esc says :
DTS here
Tomdkat says :
DD here
DanishDVDfreak says :
Im watchin on my PC in glorious stereo hehe
Le Chuck says : says:
this was the first movie I remember with Harvey Keitel and ever since, I have always loved him
DanishDVDfreak says :
Walken is SO good in this scene, as always.
DanishDVDfreak says :
I could just watch a movie with just him talking
Tomdkat says
"Up His ASS!"
EM3 says :
better his than mine
DanishDVDfreak says :
smelly watch
DanishDVDfreak says :
hehe
Le Chuck says : says:
he grabbed that awfully quickly for such a shitting watch
EM3 says :
1:08:50 radio persalities in the cab are being played by ....... ?
esc says :
1:09:00 holy crap is that John Goodman ??
EM3 says :
yep
DanishDVDfreak says :
Where Where ?
EM3 says :
Who was the other guy though
DanishDVDfreak says :
Oh...the radio guys ?
esc says :
1:10:11 bandaid featured again on Marcellus's neck
Tomdkat says :
Hidin' in tha rice bowl...
DanishDVDfreak says :
Is there something special with the bandaid ?
esc says :
ya... you dont know aboot the bandaid?
1:13:50 i think this is my favorite shot in the film, i love the way the camera moves around the phone booth.
Tomdkat says :
I like the dancing scene a LOT but The OD is MUCH TOO MUCH for me to handle
Del Griffith says :
it is a great scene ... the phone booth
DanishDVDfreak says :
I dont really like her voice...the girlfriend
Tomdkat says :
I think her voice is cool....
Le Chuck says : says:
her voice is great

Moppy007 has entered the conversation.

DanishDVDfreak says :
Well...we cant all agree hehe
esc says :
1:16:45 another madonna reference in a QT film
Le Chuck says : says:
that song is awful
Tomdkat says :
"Will you kiss it?"
esc says :
1:19:38 ewww, some grain on the print and pixelization , video atifacts
DanishDVDfreak says :
Yeah...the print isnīt perfect
esc says :
it works for the film though
DanishDVDfreak says :
Sure does
esc says :
1:21:00 wooo nekkid bruce!
DanishDVDfreak says :
hehe

Moppy007 says :

DanishDVDfreak says :
If u want to see his thingy, go rent...ah...never mind

Le Chuck says : says:
that is a great shot.... with her reflection in the TV
esc says :
1:23:00 wow, that reflection of her in the TV always gets me, the guns shooting at her and the motorcycles racing towards her reflection in the TV.
DanishDVDfreak says :
1:24:50 uh oh... she forgot to bring the watch! ...... Look in her ass.....

Del Griffith says :

Le Chuck says : says:
how did the camera fit through that fence?
DanishDVDfreak says :
steady cam...not that big
Moppy007 says :
i presume they were able to step through and keep it going
esc says :
i think it was a small hand held camera
DanishDVDfreak says :
reminds me of a shot in Men In Black where the camera goes backwards and then the operator gets on a crane and goes up...great shot too
esc says :
similar to the opening school shot in Scream
Moppy007 says :
i wonder how many takes they do of those sorts of shots
DanishDVDfreak says :
Does anyone know what the longest tracking shot is ?
esc says :
probably something in a DePalma film
Le Chuck says : says:
opening to Touch of Evil is well known for long tracking shot
surfingelectrode says :
Maybe the Goodfellas one? I dunno..
Moppy007 says :
i thought it was touch of evil...
esc says :
Outbreak had a long ass one at the start
DanishDVDfreak says :
Yeah that shot in GoodFellas going into the night club, right ?
surfingelectrode says :
The Copacobana scene in Goodfellas is a long one.
DanishDVDfreak says :
That is one of the greatest shots ever
Moppy007 says :
there's a pretty cool one in swingers, as they walk into the derby
esc says :
Russian Ark was supposedly done all in 1 shot, but there are several places where i swear it cuts
surfingelectrode says :
From the car, down the stairs, through a hallway, through the kitchen, to the Maitrde, following the table, then them sitting down, and then Penny Youngman.
Le Chuck says : says:
what about the movie Running Time? with Bruce Campbell. each shot was a reels worth
EM3 says :
Now see this annoys me not only does he leave his toaster pastries, but leaves the fire alarm going
Le Chuck says : says:
1:33:20 I FUCKING LOVE THIS SONG!!!!
EM3 says :

SephirothClone says:
i love that the fat bitch gets shot
EM3 says :
I have my moments
esc says :
it was weird, i didnt have any reaction to it actually.
DanishDVDfreak says :
I knew that we would see Travolta again...It was pretty clear to me early in the film that is jumps back and forth
surfingelectrode says :
The woman shot by Marsellus is the woman thrown out of the car in RD.
esc says :
poor girl cant catch a break
Le Chuck says : says:
she has got to be more careful
DanishDVDfreak says :
S&M scene coming up

Le Chuck says : says:
i thought : he is going to cut off his ear!
surfingelectrode says :
Gay.Hillbilly.S&M.Rapists.
DanishDVDfreak says :

DanishDVDfreak says :
Dont think so
DanishDVDfreak says :
Anyone know who plays the Gimp ?
Le Chuck says : says:
stephen Hibbert
EM3 says :
Zodiac Killer I think
Le Chuck says : says:
same guy who played the Inep t Magma Chamber Guard in Spy who Shagged me
Del Griffith says :
this scene really freaked me out the first time I saw it - didn't know what was going to happen
DanishDVDfreak says :
Oh him....hehe
SephirothClone says:
i love the slow motion shot of them going in the room with the music playing
surfingelectrode says :
Then the speedup of the door closing.
Le Chuck says : says:

SephirothClone says:

DanishDVDfreak says :
Imagine being in that situation
Moppy007 says :
hahahhaaaa ... i'd rather not
SephirothClone says:
that would be pretty scary
DanishDVDfreak says :
U think they would go through with it If one shit his pants ? hehe
SephirothClone says:
that sick laughter is awesome
esc says :
1:42:15 and once again, you dont see the violence, but you hear it leaving it up to your imagination
Le Chuck says : says:
yeah, this movie is not all that violent ... it is very suggestive , but does not show violence
esc says :
1:43:05 i love how bruce upgrades weapons
DanishDVDfreak says :
Yeah...people cheerīed for weapons in the theater
esc says :
at the beginning i mentioned how alot of people say its the most violent movie ever, but there is almost no on screen violence
SephirothClone says:
now is the sword he grabs a Hanzo sword?
DanishDVDfreak says :

esc says :

surfingelectrode says :
A lightbulb and two batteries.
DanishDVDfreak says :

esc says :

Le Chuck says : says:
that was pretty bad sword cutting ...not even a tear in the shirt
SephirothClone says:
ow . that has got to hurt
DanishDVDfreak says :
"you ok ?" What kind of question is that hehe
Del Griffith says :
far from ok
esc says :
well when people get shot in this film , there arent any bullet holes in their clothing or usually any blood either ... no violence
SephirothClone says:
time to get some crooked ass niggas on this rapist
Del Griffith says :
great line
Le Chuck says : says:
even though what they did was the awful, I still feel kind of bad for that guy .... he will be in so much pain
esc says :
for the rest of he short ass life.
EM3 says :
i dont
SephirothClone says:
"Im gonna get midevil on your ass" - love that line
DanishDVDfreak says :
Did anyone see Bleeder ? A Danish movie
SephirothClone says:
nope
Moppy007 says :
havent heard of it
esc says :
nope
DanishDVDfreak says :
In Bleeder the main character does something dumb, and then he gets injected with HIV blood ... Its SO evil...but he gets his revenge
DanishDVDfreak says :
They catch him and hang him in a werehouse and inject him
Moppy007 says :
that sounds pretty cool
DanishDVDfreak says :

SephirothClone says:
i'd like to fuck Mrs. Wallace
SephirothClone says:
"And I will strike down upon thee!"
DanishDVDfreak says :
I think I would have stayed in the bathroom
SephirothClone says:

SephirothClone says:
WHEN I LAY MY VENEGENCE UPON THEE!
Le Chuck says : says:
this was my computer shut down sound for a little bit ...but it took too long so i changed it
SephirothClone says:
i have a poster of them shooting in B&W on my wall, right next to me
Le Chuck says : says:
i was thinking of getting that poster
SephirothClone says:
"it was bigger than him"
esc says :
ok, time to lay out the prevailing theory of whats in the case ....
DanishDVDfreak says :
hehe
esc says :
Basically the prevailing theory is that it is Marcellus's soul in the brefcase. That is why everyone recognizes it and is in awe when they see it... We all have one, have never seen it, but when we do, oh baby, we recogzie it. The combination of the breifcase is 6-6-6, the 'mark of the beast', which is a mistranslation in the bible, but becuase of popular opinion about the number and for the purposes of storytelling, tells us that it is the devil's brefcase. Marcellus sold his soul to the devil for whatever reason (hence the bandaid on the back of his neck during the first scene with Bruce Willis - when the devil takes your soul it is supposedly ripped out of the back of your neck). Quentin told Vhing Rhames during shooting that he wanted to cover up a scar on the back of his neck...but the mythology of 'whats in the case' has grown beyond a simple explanation like that for the bandaid in that scene. it is possible that Tony Rocky Horror is the one who was first sent to get the soul back but the Devil's imp's tricked him and now posess the breifcase, and this is why Marcellus tossed Tony out of the window. The imps are the kids in the apartment with Bret having the burger breakfast that Jules and Vincent are sent to kill. Since they are there on a holy mission to literally save a man's soul, God comes down and saves their lives by deflecting the bullets. Some people who have seen the film have said that they saw bullet holes in the wall behind Jules and Vincent the first time they walked into the apartment, but this has never been confimed in any print of the film as far as i know, and would completely deflate the soul therory.
esc says :
k, im done!
EM3 says :
Man was that deep
Le Chuck says : says:
I think it is a hitchcockian maguffin ( how the fuck do you spell that?) ..... no purpose with the story other than to move it along
esc says :
BUMP! BANG!
SephirothClone says:
BAM!!
SephirothClone says:
oh shit!
SephirothClone says:
i shot marvin!
Todd says :
went over a bump - lol
EM3 says :
That's why I prefer a single action revolver
Le Chuck says : says:
i love that line ,,, i shot marvin in the face .... he certainly wasn't saved by god
esc says :
1:56:30 Vincent looks like a goddamned maxipad!
DanishDVDfreak says :
hehe
Le Chuck says : says:
QT, while he is a great director, can not act to save his life
DanishDVDfreak says :
Not in this...but heīs pretty good in Dusk Till Dawn
esc says :
thats true, but its funny when he tries to act and i think thats how he wants it to come off
DanishDVDfreak says :
I think in this he just did his lines one time
Le Chuck says : says:
his manerisms and gestures were very good in from dusck til dawn, but the way he says his lines are fake and weak
SephirothClone says:
a goddamn maxipad
esc says :
1:57:40 now the towel looks like a goddamned makipad!
SephirothClone says:
"I know my shit is good, I buy it"
DanishDVDfreak says :
"Dead nigger storage" coming up
EM3 says :

DanishDVDfreak says :

Le Chuck says : says:
my favorite character
DanishDVDfreak says :
How cool is the Wolf ?
Le Chuck says : says:
does his license plate mean anything?
DanishDVDfreak says :
sure it does...dont know what though
esc says :
there is a hilarious soundbite that a local radio station did whilt PF was still in theaters where they re-edited pulp fiction to what it might sound like if it were aired on TV, so it was suitable for all audiences.. it went something like ..."Do you see a sign in the front of my house that says Dead African American Storage!?!? Do You see a sign in front of my house that says Dead African American Storage?!?!... Thats cause storin' dead african americans aint my rooty toot tootin business!! "
Le Chuck says : says:
rooty toot tootin business?? wtf? that is awesome
DanishDVDfreak says :
I hate when they edit that shit
esc says :

EM3 says :
America, Land of the Offended
DanishDVDfreak says :
Yep
esc says :
nod
DanishDVDfreak says :
Yeah...i know...but when they do it for real
DanishDVDfreak says :
They have the TV version on the Scarface DVD ...its just stupid
Le Chuck says : says:
tv editing is a hilarious art
EM3 says :
What about putting on Scarface one night?
DanishDVDfreak says :
Oh yeah...Im So up for that
Le Chuck says : says:
what is QT 's shirt?
SephirothClone says:
Travolta is cooler than the Wolf
DanishDVDfreak says :
"pretty please...with sugar on top...clean the fucking car"
Le Chuck says : says:
a man in a bow tie is always cooler than a man in a four-in-hand tie
EM3 says :
Tux helps to
Le Chuck says : says:
being harvey keitel helps a lot too
DanishDVDfreak says :
sure does
DanishDVDfreak says :
Is QTīs chracter whipped or what ? hehe
Le Chuck says : says:

DanishDVDfreak says :
I like this coming up line more "Ha ha...they are your clothes motherfucker"
Le Chuck says : says:
ewww ... travolta should leave teh shirt on ... jiggle
DanishDVDfreak says :
The Wolf likes his job hehe
Le Chuck says : says:
are those watches water resistant
esc says :
2:10:15 shouldnt the neighbors be hearing this gangster shit?
SephirothClone says:

DanishDVDfreak says :

SephirothClone says:
QT is the real dork with that line

DanishDVDfreak says :

SephirothClone says:

SephirothClone says:

EM3 says :

DanishDVDfreak says :
lol
SephirothClone says:
haha
DanishDVDfreak says :
Cool !
SephirothClone says:
"I want to walk the world like Kain from Kung-Fu" ....i used to say that all the time after I first saw this movie in 1994
SephirothClone says:
"Garcon, coffee!"
SephirothClone says:
more of a pause after "Garcon"
2:16:30 GARSON!! COFFEE! i nearly pissed myself at that moment when i first saw this as it had been so long since the beginning and had forgotten the film started with punkin and hunny bunny
EM3 says :
1st time I saw that it blew me away
esc says :
SephirothClone says:
different final words from hunny bunny
esc says :
twice now when we see the same scene for the second time, some lines are slightly changed
DanishDVDfreak says :
Psycho woman !!
Le Chuck says : says:
do you think it was good to introduce them again ... or would it have been better to just cut to them robbing it
SephirothClone says:
2:19:40 "MEXICANS OUT OF THE FUCKING KITCHEN!"
EM3 says :
I like it the way it is
esc says :
nod. me too. with the way its set up, i was on the floor when he yelled Garcon! Coffee! again. cause it was a funny moment at the beginning, but now its an OH SHIT moment cause you know who else is in the restaurant.
DanishDVDfreak says :
Its not overdone though...I just HATE movies where they HAVE to get all the morons in on whats happening too
Le Chuck says : says:
i think it could have worked either way resulting in different effects
Le Chuck says : says:
i found a place online where you can buy that wallet
DanishDVDfreak says :
I hate when they have to insert a cut from the thing u are supposed to remember...u know what I mean ?
SephirothClone says:
i want that wallet
Le Chuck says : says:

DanishDVDfreak says :

< < esc proceeds to type the knuckle-crackingly long breifcase explanation again...... > >

Tomdkat says :
Wow.. deep
Le Chuck says : says:
good theory, but I really don't know if I agree with that
Le Chuck says : says:
i will think it over
DanishDVDfreak says :
Sometimes I think some people put too much thought into a movie
esc says :
well thats why its not revealed whats in the case.. its whatever you believe
DanishDVDfreak says :
Yeah...its cool that way
Tomdkat says :
Pulp Fiction deserves it, though..
Le Chuck says : says:
as I said earlier I think that is exactly what it is..... whatever you want
Le Chuck says : says:
it is there to progress the story
DanishDVDfreak says :
Uh...Dolby Spectral Recording hehe

Le Chuck says : says:
after having participated, this was very fun
SephirothClone says:
we should watch a porno on April Fools Day
DanishDVDfreak says :
Why wait till Aprils Fools Day ?
Le Chuck says : says:
but unfortunately you have to have seen the movie or else you can't really participate and watch
Le Chuck says : says:
so it doesn't work well if you want to share movies with the group
esc says :
ya, we are going to check that out in a couple weeks with Videodrome, which i havent seen yet
Le Chuck says : says:
yeah... I haven't seen it either
DanishDVDfreak says :
Im going to have to pass on Videodrome
esc says :
i'll be watching on my computer so i can have both windows in the same screen, maybe i'll be able to pay more attetion to the film
Le Chuck says : says:
i am such a bad movie purist i know watching and chatting wont work
Moppy007 says :
anything planned the week after videodrome?
esc says :
nothing in concrete yet for week 4
DanishDVDfreak says :
Gigli anyone ?
Le Chuck says : says:
maybe for a movie where not many have seen it there can be a longer final chat
esc says :
ya, that could be cool. have most of the talking happen after the film
DanishDVDfreak says :
Maybe we should do a MST3K thing sometime ?

Re: PULP FICTION-Live Chat-Thur, Jan 6, 2005

post deleted.

the whole 3 hour thing is up now. only part of it was there before. i removed the indented margins and have all the text along the left margin now as it was causing the DVDfile server to have upload/display issues with 200K worth of formatted text

I didn't realize there were so many RD dislikers here. That is my favorite QT movie and Pulp Fiction is my least favorite. Reservoir Dogs is a perfect movie for me.

Andrew (Sycho)says:

DanishDVDfreak says:

LeChuck says:

esc says:

Andrew (Sycho)says:
oh, so, why am I here?
DanishDVDfreak says:
I love Bruce in that crappy car hehe
LeChuck says:
12750: =]
esc says:
well you added youself to this MSN account a while ago, i saw you online and thought you were here to watch and chat about the movie with us, who are you ?
DanishDVDfreak says:
long tracking shot
SephirothClone says:
im back! let me just feed my dog and im in!
esc says:
cool dude
Todd says:
going through the fence too
LeChuck says:
how did the camera fit in that fence?
LeChuck says:
seemed like a tight sqeeze for BW
DanishDVDfreak says:
steady cam...not that big
LeChuck says:
very smooth
Moppy007says:
i presume they were able to step through and keep it going
esc says:
i think it was a small hand held camera
DanishDVDfreak says:
reminds me of a shot in Men In Black where the camera goes backwards and then the operator gets on a crane and goes up...great shot too
Moppy007says:
i wonder how many takes they do of those sorts of shots
esc says:
similar to the opening school shot in Scream
Andrew has left the conversation.

it was something that confused the hell out of us (and you apperently), and I didnt even realize it was you that popped in until now, so, like a Rosie O'Donnell nude scene, you were edited out.
