Movie Scenes That Make You Cringe.

I was wondering if anyone else does this. There maybe spoilers ahead, but they should be dealt with appropriately.

1. House Of Sand And Fog - When Jennifer Connelley steps on the nail in the board.
2. The slow stabbing in Saving Private Ryan. You know the one.
3. The eye gouging in the European version of Blade Runner.
4. When Billy Hayes bites the tounge out of Riffki in Midnight Express.
5. The drilling scene in Marathon man.
6. The Russian Roullete game in The Dear Hunter.

These are just a few at this wee hour of the morning. Talk amonst yourselves.

There was also this discussion -- for the record. It's quite old though, a bunch of new films have come out since then.

What Is The Most Disturbing Scene From A Movie Ever?

Well i guess i shall add The Machinist and its repair scene and accidentally hitting the on button and taking off half the guys arm. Also just seeing Bale so thin in the film was cringe inducing with all his spine, ribs and bones showing in almost every scene he is in (which is basically the whole movie) Then gain the weight to do Batman Begins.

Also seeing Stifler eat the Dog Turd in American Wedding was pretty bad too

The opening scene in Goodfellas where Joe Pesci uses the kitchen knife on the man in the car.

"That Scene" in Irreversible

Curb biting in American History X

The slow stab in Saving Private Ryan

Russel Crowe slitting the throat of a Guerilla Soldier in Proof Of Life.

And worst of all for me... the "paper cuts" scene in Jackass The Movie!

-any scene featuring a casturation in Sin City
-the scene in The Crazies where the Granny stabbed the soldier with a knitting needle--that was a mix of cringe and "what the hell?"

Sorry, I can't remember the movie.

The scene took place in a bathroom, and the person commited suicide by opening a pair of scissors, placed them open and pointing up on the sink, then proceded to push their own head down forcefully with mouth open.

Gahhhhhh!!!! That's the ONLY thing I remember from that movie which I forget the name of.

Dude....that is a classic! Did you watch the alternate angles in the extras?

That song combined with that scene cracks me up!

A good scene I agree, but it doesn't actually make me cringe at all.

I can't explain why, but I find the ear cutting scene in CHOPPER much more disturbing.

It's probably in the same way that I think the Patricia Arquette vs James Gandolfini fight in TRUE ROMANCE is the most vicious put to contemporary film, and is truly savage but it that doesn't make me cringe either!

Yet somehow the Borg needle in Picard's eye (or nearly) in Star Trek First Contact makes me feel

Man, Chopper has its fair share of graphic scenes. I totally forgot about that one.

Serpent and the Rainbow. All I remember is a guy getting restrained to a chair, and then a giant nail getting hammered into his balls.

Oh yes, good one.

In my opinion, the reviving scene later on, is one of the most dramatic scenes ever shot in movies. Gotta love that James Cameron.

The cutting of the achilles tendon in Pet Sematary.

I don't know that I'm actually been able to fully watch that shot yet.

Lots of cringe moments in Pet Cemetary. SPOILERS:

Like when Pascow gets brought in after being hit by a truck, and the first time he appears to the main character in ghost form. When his son gets hit by a truck. The achilles tendon bit. Even the part where he rolls out of bed and slams his temple on the corner of the nightstand . Most of all, the scenes with his wife's sister Zelda. That has to be the creepiest movie of all time for me.

Arghhh! Did you have to remind me of Zelda. That is the only character in movie history that I have had nightmares over! And it's a film I've not had the nerve to watch on DVD for fear of it all over again!

I used to think I was alone in this but a quick search on IMDB shows me I'm not alone. The filmmakers really got it right on this one....

But it didn't make me cringe.... it just scared the jeepers out of me!

A lot of scenes in Candyman. Most notably the scene where her best friend's corpse is gutted open in her apartment. Also, the bathroom stall with all the maggots in the toilet bowl. And the scene with the bees in Tony Todd's mouth. It's still one of my favorite movies that gives me the heebie-jeebies.
