Your Personal 2 Day Film Festivale

Ok this isn't really a film discussion but a look at what you would do with your films. Got this thread idea from a thread going on at the IGN boards. The rules for your movie Festivale are that you have 2 days to showcase your movies between 11 am to 11pm and could only showcase moves that are in your dvd collection. Seems simple enough but it took me about 40 minutes to finally come up with 2 day showtime schedule for my personal film festival of what i thought was a good mix of movies (but seem to kept it more dramatic) I just noticed i left out A Nightmare Before Christmas form my list but there were plenty of movies i didn't get to fit in. I just think its a cool way to look at what you would want people to think of you and your taste in movies.

Can't wait to see what people would show. Keep it like a real film festivale like in Toronto right now or go for an Ed Wood festivale of bad movies. Anyways here's my list

DAY 1

Quote:
Duck Soup 11:00 - 12:10

Wonder Boys 12:15 - 2:10

Run Lola Run 2:15 - 3:35

Moulin Rouge (2001) 3:40 - 5:50

Unbreakable 6:00 - 7:45

Triplets of Belleville 7:50 - 9:10

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind 9:15 - 11:00

DAY 2:
Quote:
Clerks 11:00 - 12:30

Princess Mononoke 12:35 - 2:50

The Royal Tenenbaums 3:00 - 4:50

Amelie 5:00 - 7:00

Crash 7:05 - 8:50

Pleasantville 8:50 - 11:00

Hey this is MY FESTIVALE. If they can't hold it its their fault. I did leave 10 minute gaps between most of my shows and they can sneek food in if they want too

OK, I'm going to cheat--I had to go with three days, so it's going to be a long weekend, and my start and end times stretch the parameters, but there was so much i wanted to include, and I wanted discussions in addition to the films.

All the show times are extended to allow for breaks in between without my having to incorporate the higher math skills to get everything to an exact science. Most of the films have anywhere from ten to twenty minutes before the next starts.

I'm also living in fantasy land and scheduling panel discussions with the assumption that directors, writers, actors, etc. would come and participate. It's my fantasy--I can pretend.

Day 1

11-12:30 Tadpole
12:30-2:00 The House of Yes

2:00-3:00 Participant Panel Discussion (Actors, Directors Writers) "Not Sure if I Should Laugh: The Incest Taboo and Dark Comedy" (Tadpole, House of Yes)

3-4 Late Lunch/ Early Dinner w/ VIP Guests

4-6:15 Torch Song Trilogy

6:30-7:30 Participant Panel Discussion (Writers, Directors) "From Stage to Screen: The Art of Adaptation" (House of Yes, Torch Song Trilogy)

7:30-9:00 Lillies
9-11 Latter Days

11-12 Midnight Champagne Brunch/Reception w/ VIP Guests

Day 2

10-11 Sunrise Participant Panel Discussion (breakfast Served) "The Evolving Image of the Gay Male in Film" (Torch Song Trilogy, Lillies, Latter Days)

11-1 Super Size Me
1-2:45 Fog of War
2:45-4:45 Bowling for Columbine

5-6 Panel Dinner Discussion (Directors) "The Documentary as Instrument of Social Change" (Bowling for Columbine, Super Size Me, Fog of War)

6-8 Kill Bill Vol. 1
8-10:30 Kill Bill Vol. 2

10:30-11 Night Cap Buffet: Dinner and Drinks w/ VIP Guests (Martial Arts Theme)

Day 3

11-12:30 Last House on the Left

12:30-1:30 Lunchtime Panel Discussion (Directors, Writers) "Crafting the Vengeance Tale" (Kill Bill, Last House on the Left)

1:30-3:15 Halloween
3:15-5 A Nightmare on Elm Street

5-6 Panel Dinner Discussion (Craven and Carpenter) "The Slasher Film as Morality Tale"

6:00-7:15 The Misadventures of Margaret

7:15-8:15 Panel Discussion (Writers, Directors) "This is Not My Life: The Celluloid Midlife Crisis) (Misadventures of Margaet and American Beauty)

8:30-10:30 American Beauty

10:30-Midnight "Midnight Closing Ball" Dinner Buffet, Open Bar, Music by St. Etienne (Did the music for Misadventures of Margaret), VIP Guests
