Most people in America have convinced themselves of this fallacy, that movies are worse today than X years ago. For some people this may be true, but if you look at the movies closer, and the old movies, it's pretty easy to conclude that there are some good movies out nowadays. However, human nature drives people to think "it was better years ago". I've been trying to point out that people are prisoners of their misconceptions for years now. ![]()

I think as you get older, you've simply seen more and thus want to see something fresh that isn't a re-hash of all the other stuff you've seen.
Meaning, for me anyway, my 'Oh, I gotta see that movie' feeling kinda diminishes over the years. My 2cents only. ![]() Edited: Guess my timing to see Reapers response getting in just before mine is perfectly timed. ![]() |

i just dont like how there are indie movies and hollywood blockbusters as categories for movies i see. seems to me that these lines are blurring and they need to use the term indie less when talking about some movies.
just today i was on an indie movie trivia quiz on whatsyourpopsecret.com, which is actually a fun site to answer questions on, but the movies i was answering questions about seemed like hollywood blockbusters to me. when i think of indie movies, i think of movies that are filmed with zero to no budget. then i see stuff like pulp fiction and star wars, and people call them indie, that just seems ridiculous |
