Well, if you read elwood's posts (#241, paragraph 3 in particular) you'll see that he feels that actors are "basically forced" to do nudity even though its against their own wishes. Not "forced" as in with a gun, but forced as in... well, hell, read his post.

Ok, I found this page which talks about Margo Stilley (pics here) who co-starred in 9 songs (great movie I recommend).

Anywho, here is a quote from that article:

In discussing "reality" as he was making his points....

A very very small percentage of movies in Hollywood present reality.

From the actors or actresses that star in the movie to genre's - reality is left at the door of the film lot.

Romances - gone
Westerns - gone
Action movies - gone
Musicals - gone
most dramas - gone
mysteries - gone
animations - gone

the only thing left

Reality isn't what it is all cracked up to be - that is why we love movies. That is why we love seeing size 3 actresses and hunky actors. That's why we love to see things blown up, people without clothes, cars we can never afford, those cars trashed, places of space that don't exist, aliens that haunts our creative dreams...

Moogle was just trying to say *sigh* that within those contexts of fable it is nice to have SOME sense of rational film making. Like jumping a car off of a cliff but having it land at the bottom fine (Duke of Hazard) versus when people have sex they do it with their clothes off (for the most part) except for Iguana who may still do it with his shoes and socks on (for traction).

It's a video talking about how Alba is upset at PLayboy for putting her on the cover. She fears people will think she's nude or partially nude in the magazine and that it might hurt her reputation.

No, she was just put on the cover because Playboy is doing a top 25 sexiest stars thing. And according to Alba, she never gave permission for her photo to be used.

Here is an interesting thing. I think the only point it reinforces as far as this thread is concerned, is that Sharon Stone might be an idiot.

I agree that she should have been consulted and given the right to refuse - I wonder if she could reverse time if she would considering the buzz that scene gave to her...again, yes Tom, pure speculation and food for thought

As for the link to Alba and the playboy issue...I know she is mad against her popularity being exploited...just thought I would dangle that worm in the water and see if anyone would bite...apparently not

As for Alba, if the pic was public domain (and it was), I don't think she has a right to tell any magazine what they can and can't put on the cover. It was shitty of them, yeah, but suing them? Bah!

I just think it's a little silly to rant and rave about people putting screencaps of naked women on the internet, then sharing screencaps of a woman on the internet. No, she wasn't naked, but the purpose of it was still to look at her and admire her beauty. That's the same purpose of looking at a nude woman, to admire her attractiveness and beauty. To say there's some huge gap between the two is to focus on the act of nudity as being "dirty" or "wrong" in some way. I mean, I really can't think of any other reason for one to be fine to you and the other not.
