Your Top 10: Unsuccessful Films
At first I was going to call this topic "Your Top 10: Underrated Movies" but then I realized people would probably list a bunch of movies which may have received critical acclaim but which few people have seen.
What I'm after are movies which are generally disliked by everyone, but liked by you. Most of the movies on my list not only received mediocre reviews, but also bombed at the box office. Yet I like them. Some of them I even love. 1. Death to Smoochy 2. Lady in the Water 3. Surviving Christmas 4. Reign of Fire 5. Brainscan 6. Lucky Number Slevin 7. The Postman 8. Mission to Mars 9. Gigli 10. Harvard Man KM

I’m not sure if this is what you were looking for, but this is a list of films that were critically panned and box office bombs that I feel have worth.
01. Howard the Duck 02. The Fountain* 03. King Arthur 04. Irreversible 05. Meet Joe Black 06. Stay 07. Jersey Girl 08. Bee Season 09. Flyboys 10. A Good Year *I know there are a lot of members here who appreciated this film, but almost every single person I’ve talked to either hates it or has simply dismissed it as a nonsense picture. I don’t think I’ve ever been more disappointed in the critical community than with the reception The Fountain received.

Oh dear God. I hope this thread is somehow being blocked from Tomdkats view.
I actually like a couple of those in the first post but don't have the knowledge to know which of the rest I like otherwise got shot down by "most". |

I'm glad I am not the only one who likes The Postman.
Kevin Costner can make some seriously bad crap, but this wasn't some of it. I enjoyed it although it has been years and years since I saw it. Should probably give it another look. |

I also enjoyed the Postman too. I was expecting a complete debacle based on the reviews that I read, but I really enjoyed it as a rental, and I bought it afterwards.

I avoided it too for a great while because of the reviews but when I finally watched it I did enjoy it. The moral of the story I guess is not to put to much faith in others opinions and to check it out on my own.
