Why wasn't Ruined on top of this like he usually is with sales figures??
I wonder if he'll post the upcomming sales figures that show PS3 sold more than 360 in July? Ahem... Anyway, no surprise, the damn thing is a fad with kids, women, casual gamers and all the hardcore want it for Nintendo titles. It's going to sell a LOT, at least for the first couple years. Personally mine is pretty useless and I regret buying it, but hopefully some software will turn it around this Fall. |

Ouch on the Xbox360 numbers in Japan. Otherwise, the 360 still has a very impressive showing at over 10 million worldwide. And then you wonder why EA and other developers build for the 360 first. Still, the PS3 is a little less than half way to getting in equal footing, and that's with a meager set of games.

Not surprising. Normally I wouldn't much care, but the Wii being so different and not really what I want from a gaming machine, I'm hoping this lead won't be expanded too much. Or the next generation may see a shift towards more Wii-like hardware. Which would be a damn shame if you ask me.
I don't think the chance of that happening is too great though. Thankfully. KM

Good for the wii.
Let me know when it can pass a 5.1 signal and produce visuals like Bioshock, Gears of War, and The Darkness.

Well no ones suprised, but with the Gamecubes completely poor showing last generation, this is very good news for Nintendo. My wife is really the Wii player in the house and I don't currently play anything but the virtual console. When Ghost Squad comes out, however, I will be all over that.

Is there some site somewhere that is dedicated to publishing the NDP stats? I'm looking for something similar to box office sites sites like boxofficemojo.com.
And it doesn't even have to be a completely standalone site, it could be a supset of IGN or something, but some place that regularly publishes the sales stats as they are made official. Preferably with some historical data. I know the usual suspects (IGN, Gamespot, etc.) usually posts about it in some kind of news story, but that's still not one standard URL I can go to any time to quickly get the data. The closest I've found is nexgenwars.com and vgchartz.com, but they're not exactly what I'm looking for either. So, any suggestions? KM

magic box
I'm not sure exactly what you are looking for but the magic box always lists sales numbers for japan weekly and then a running total for the year? You could maybe research where they get their numbers from. Just click on console charts...

Kotaku.com reports them as soon as they come out and is probably the best place for gaming news on the entire web. They link to where they get them from, so if you go there and find the latest story it will have a link to what you want probably.

I just bought a Wii today lol! I've been meaning to get one, and with the price, it feels like an impulse buy compared to the other consoles. Just called a few Game Stops and one had one left, got em to hold it for me, and boom I got one. Sucks you have to buy the component cables seperatly. Also bought the wireless sensor bar so I can use it with a projector.
I'm not suprised it's the best seller. I'll no doubt still use my 360 primarily, but compared to the PS3, I haven't bought any PS3 games yet(I use for Blu Ray), but there's at least 4 Wii games currently out that I want. I bought RE4, as it was awesome on the PS2, but the graphics stunk, plus I heard you can aim the gun with the remote like a light gun. I plan to get Zelda soon for starters. Also can't wait to play Mario 64 again! Now i just need to get set the damn thing up.
