360 Elite Networking Woes
I got a beautiful 360 elite today. Its all loaded up with various demos and trailers (yay for Halo's Starry Night in 1080i !), but its being a bitch to get going with my wireless network.
Maybe it just not possible to hook things up the way that I am trying to. I really dont want to spend $100 on the official Xbox wireless access point. I am trying to get a Belkin AP working as a bridge but it doesn't seem to be going so well. here is the AP : http://cache1-www.belkin.com/support...130_manual.pdf I also have several wireless routers sitting around which don't seem to work either. I set up an AP/Bridge at a friend's house on his 360 a couple of years ago and it all went super smooth. We just plugged in the AP to the XBox via an RJ45 cable and the XBox detected wireless networks in the area, asked for the WEP key, and we were off. The AP either is not designed to do what I want it to do, or I am missing something with an IP setting. I have tried to use the Windows Connect Now feature, but thats a bust as well. The XBox does not want to realize that there is a wireless connection. Because I have an ethernet cable plugged into the back of the 360, the wireless/WEP section of the Networking window is greyed out. any suggestions may help. thanks. I hope that was all somewhat clear.

Maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree but shouldn't the bridge be the thing with all the wireless settings so that the 360 should think it's hard wired in.
