360 to stream Netflix Instant Queue

Microsoft and Netflix announce partnership - Engadget

This is a big plus on the 360 side of things. I haven't been wanting to get a Roku because I figued eventually the ps3 or even a competing box with more features would come out. Looks like 360 is first out of the gate in competition with Roku. I really hope PS3 isn't far behind.

Well a bit more information in that you have to have a XBox Live Gold Membership AND a netflix account in order to stream. Great for those who already have the membership I suppose. That additional cost might be enough to keep people looking at the Roku or other standalone device.

Well it takes about 5 minutes to get a netflix account doesn't it? Also having a gold xbl account for this would have been implied. I can't wait to see the new dashboard in action for myself. Not real keen in the avatars (to wii like) but I guess I'll live with it.

This is great news. I watch a lot of TV shows via NF, and now I can actually watch them on TV.

Is this SD versions of the movies only? Or HD?

Currently Netflix isn't offering any HD content. When they do they console will be able to stream it.
