Nvidia Nvision Conference

At the end of this month I'll have the pleasure of attending the Nvidia Nvision Conference in San Jose. A three day event including a giant LAN party, a Video Games Live concert, demonstration by the Mythbuster guys and even a keynote speech by Tricia "Number-6" Helfer. It will also be my first trip home to the bay area in six years which I'm REALLY looking forward to.

I just don't get the pants below the hip thing. Sorry, I know it's off topic.

I hope we'll see you with #6. Or at least a picture of #6 from afar.

I should be able to at least get a creepy stalker shot from a distance.

Well here's hoping. Looks like tropical storm Fay will on top of us right around the time we're scheduled to fly out.

And you don't look that creepy in the picture.

Gotta love low cut dresses during a signing session.

So reading your blogspot... those 3D gaming games look pretty fun. Will they require anything extra. I guess glasses, but just anything else in general. How does it look when you're not standing directly in front of it?

They look just as good standing from the side.

The whole thing is software driven, and require the glasses (not old fashion red/blue but more like the sunglass-style from the crappy 80's 3D movies). The guy that I went with said he saw something on top of the monitor but I didn't notice it.

Looks like you're still having fun out there.

So, how was Kyle Busch recieved by the crowd? I also echo your friend MLFCNT's opinion. But I'm a Carl Edwards fan (I think you knew that).

How'd you like "Video Games Live" ? They came through here last year. It seemed like the concert series that brought them couldn't give those tickets away. Of course, it is a different crowd than what most classical music fans are accustomed to. I'd be interested to see what you though tof it.

Looking at your picture of the 3D game, there is a little green dot above the monitor. That might influence where they project the dimensions.

He was recieved well, but there were no standing ovations for him. At the meet-and-greet the line was about eight seconds long.

I really enjoyed it, we got a glimpse of Diablo 3 during a segment, nothing more than drawings and character renderings but the music was really good. We left at the intermission because we were extremely burned out by that point.

Possibly. I unfortunately didn't pay that much attention. When I saw a display in 3D I walked up and put the glasses on and got lost in it's beauty. I should have asked more question when I had the chance.
I do know this, I got pretty dizzy playing an FPS in 3D but games like Age of Empires were nothing short of spectacular.
