Xbox Kameo preview

Here is a sneak peak of Kameo. Excellent video, looks like an interesting game - check it out:

EDIT: old-ass movie removed, scroll down

I remember seeing this game at E3 last year...on Gamecube (funny how things work out). You're right though it is an interesting game and it looked very nice when I saw it last. I'm at work right now though and while I can't compare the video of Xbox footage to what I saw at E3, I'm sure it looks even better since Rare is going to working on making the game take advantage of the Xbox harware capabilities.

Kameo: Elements of Power is now a Q1 2005 release, however the game has gotten a huge graphical facelift from its original Gamecube roots (and early XBOX showing)

New trailer here:

And here is a screenie of the new XBOX-enhanced look

Here is the old, Gamecube Kameo

New one is a big step forward, clear now why this one hasn't come out yet

That's because Rare kept trashing whatever code they started with and begun again... and again. Lets hope this makes release.

Conker... that looks good!

Ruined,

I can't see how you can compare those two shots. 1 is clearly not of in game materials and an early early alpha shot and the other is an in game shot showing off the lighting. Plus you have an outdoor picture vs. indoor picture.

The graphics are nice, but its like comparing apples to oranges.

Heh, I could post any number of screens from the Gamecube's original showing and they all look similar to that one, and they are all from "in-game" materials - the life bars/etc just had not been added yet. The first revealing of kameo on xbox, when it was ported from GC in 2 weeks only looked slightly better than the above shot as well. So there is a clear evolution here - you can look up more screenshots on google if you want to see more evidence.

Here is another example from when the gc version was ported to the xbox version, graphics are hugely different from what we see today:

New XBOX-enhanced version

Old ported-from-Gamecube version

Come on are you really trying to compare a game pic from a develepment cycle 2-3 years in development to a pic from 4-5 years in develepment? I can't think of any game that would look better before 2 more years of tweaking?
