rook the plunge and bought a Gamecube-Essential games please!!

Sent off for my cube on Monday-I was wondering what you guys suggest as to the best games for the machine.

I've heard that Res Evil is superb as well as Eternal darkness,I fancy those two as well as Super monkey ball 2, are they all good?

Also what about Starfox-looks gorgeous, but will it be good gameplay.

The reason I ask is I've a budget to get 6 games and want the best ones.

I have a ps2 and xbox, but the res evil game for the cube looked stunning, and made me want the gamecube badly

Six games? I'd pick:

Resident Evil
Eternal Darkness
Star Wars: Rogue Leader

and any three out of these five:

Super Mario Sunshine
Super Monkey Ball 2
NBA Street
Starfox Adventures
Animal Crossing.

Alternatively, wait a couple of weeks and get the Gamecube version of Timesplitters 2.

Dude, I bought the cube for that game ALONE. The graphics are incredible and the storys locations (rooms & other explored areas) are actually about 70% different than the original.

Burnout was pretty fun too, if you like racing with incredible crash scenes.

Eternal Darkness has to be the most flawlessly-done game I've ever played. Stunning.

Thanks Guys for the info

I'm going for the following

Resident Evil

Eternal Darkness

Timesplitters 2-when it arrives

Mario Sunshine

Starfox

Animal Crossing

Super Monkey Ball

I know I said 6 but I've just sold a few of my Ps2 games to my younger brother,so I can now afford 7

Well I could get 8 but I need a memory card and an s video cable.

Thanks again guys..I'm drooling now and cannot wait!!

Just another opinion, but if I could only own 6 GC games that are out as of now?

Eternal Darkness
Super Mario Sunshine
Animal Crossing
Super Smash Brothers Melee
Super Monkey Ball 2

and a toss up between Starfox and Resident Evil

One thing to consider with your new Cube is how often you'll be having friends over. If four-player gaming is going to be a staple, then here are some "must have" games;

Super Monkey Ball 2
Beach Spikers
Super Smash Bros
any of the various Sega or EA sports francises of your choosing

Also note that, IMO, all of these, with the expeption of Football games, almost necessitate having friends over to enjoy though. The single player options in all fo the above don't really last too long
