Am I missing something? Toe Jam & Earl sucks!

Everybody's praising this game now that TJ&E3 is coming soon so I decided to check it out (by methods that will not be mentioned). And damn, I'll be a monkey's uncle if this game doesn't suck ass. Am I missing something? I know playing by the method that I choose not to speak of can't do a game justice but usually it's at least semi-decent. You just run around a bland landscape trying to stay away from sleeping enemies.

It seems most people either love TJ&E, or find it boring. Personally I thought the 1st one was fantastic, and I felt the 2nd one was only fair. This new 3rd entry looks like a 3D version of the first, so I assume I'll like it a lot. It's more of an exploration game than anything else, and some get bored with simply exploring...

I love TJ and E. What platform is it on? I only have a PC. And a real shitty one too.

The new one, TJ&E3: Mission to Earth, is an XBOX exclusive.

Hmm, it seems to be getting pretty poor reviews (IGN - 6.3, Gamespot - 5.0). I still have to rent it since I'm a big TJ&E fan, but others who have not played the series beware. Sega could have possibly released a crappy game here (gasp). I'll give my impressions once I check it out.

Just picked it up yesterday. If you like the original, you'll love this one too. It's more of the same, but with next gen graphics. Now they have voices too. What they say is not actually funny, but it's so bad, you'll be laughing every time one of them opens their mouth. Like I said before, if you like the first one, go buy it today. If you thought the first one was pointless, don't waste your time.

This game is hilarious, and awesome. I have no clue what is up with the review sites on this one, they are far, far, far off the mark!

If this game is only about exploring, i think there are people like me who just fall asleep thinking about playing this game. So, i gotta agree with ikea boy, it probably sucks.

You can always rent it and see what you think... Or, if you don't want to spend the cash, download a Toejam and Earl 1 ROM and a Genesis emulator and see what you think. TJ&E3 is essentially that game successfully converted to 3D, with some new stuff to do.

IMO Ikea Boy's description is way off as well - you won't even be able to progress pass the first map if you play the game in the way he described. Perhaps he played an Alpha build of the engine?
