You Are Dead: My Adventures in Resident Evil

Day one: Bill starts new game. Sees zombie. Zombie kills Bill.
Day two: Bill starts new game. Sees zombie. Zombie kills Bill.
Day three: Bill starts new game. Sees zombie. Zombie kills Bill.
.
.
.
Day two hundred and forty three: Bill starts new game. Sees zombie. Zombie kills Bill.
Day two hundred and forty four: Bill starts new game. Sees zombie. Zombie kills Bill.

See a pattern yet? Jesus fuck this game is hard! I try to kill these zombies using the knife (gotta conserve ammo) but I just keep getting killed. Over and over and over again. What am I missing? Are there any guides online with pictures & maps. Something 'retail guide in book form' quality?

Don't bother with the walkthrough. I think I got the hang of it. I was thinking 'every bullet counts' but everyone has told me otherwise.

I think I'll be alright.

For what ever reason, it feels like in the original game every bullet counts. But in the GameCube version, it feels a bit more forgiving.

Maybe my aim has just improved

Speaking of aim, how does one do it? It seems there are three 'aims': up, down, forward. If I aim up to shoot at their head I get nothin' but a kiss on the neck. So I fire straight and have to put in 4 or 5 bullets to kill them.

It always seemed to me like the head shot was just randomly granted to the player for the shock value. For me, aiming up seemed to do little more than put bullets in the chandeliers.

If you play on the more difficult of the two modes (is it "mountain climbing" instead of "hiking" or something like that?) every bullet will count--the best strategy is to put one bullet in the zombie to stun it long enough so that you can run past it.

You have to wait until Mr. Zombie is close enough, then just as you aim up, shoot. It does take practice though....

Make sure you are on the Hiking mode (normal) vs. Mountain Climbing (hard).

I beat it. 14 hours and some minutes with Chris on "Easy" mode. Reading up on all the extras one can unlock, I'm really looking forward to going at it again.
