I doubt int because usually the game companies don't ship in advance the way they do DVD's.

I read somewhere that they're only shipping half now and have later so they can get more sales in for the next fiscal year...something like that. So, point is, there might be a shortage. But it's probably just a rumor.

Preordered mine around this time last month. Amazon pre-orders for games have always been slower than their DVD counterparts in my experience. Good thing I'll have Tony Hawk 4 (buying that in a B&M) to keep me entertained while waiting into November for GTA.

Yeah I preordered it too at Electronic Boutique.
Dude said I was about 150 on the list. It'll be a zoo on release day, so i'll probably get a couple days after that.

I'm taking a gamble by picking up my copy on the scheduled release date at either Best Buy or Circuit City. I can probably do a pre-order at the EB near my home (I did get UT2K3 at least 2 days earlier than everywhere else), but I'm hoping that some retailer is going to offer some sort of promotion to coincide with its release. I do love my freebies.

How much are you guys reserving it for? Best Buy's gonna have it for $39.99 from what I heard in the bargain forum.

I pre-ordered mine in Septemer. But, I am very very worried that pre-orders won't be filled... I don't know, I just have a weird feeling about it.

All I know is that my pre-order with amazon won't arrive until the 4th, even though I am having it shipped next-day. I'm guessing its because of large amounts of pre-orders. I'm thinking you may be right, Louie.

I can tell you that my TRu only has 14 preorders, so we won't exactly be over-run when we get the game. EB, on the other hand...

I was talking to the EB manager today, and she said they had MANY multiples of what we have reserved. She also said she couldn't tell me, because then she'd have to kill me. :p

I have Tuesday off, and you know what I'm doing? I'm getting up early, getting myself some popcorn and going to the mall and sit outside the EB and watch the excitement!

I didn't pre-order but might get it for XMas. I went to my local mall yesturday and a guy traded in his GameCube for an XBox plus he wanted to pre-order GTA:VC. The guys at the counter said to be there early. My EB is just a tiny store at the mall and they were getting 300 copies of the game. They had already pre-sold 250+ copies I now believe people when they say that 4 million copies have been pre-sold already in North America. I haven't seen a frenzy for a game like this since the first XMas that GoldenEye was available. (yes i was part of that frenzy)

IGN PS2 gave it a 9.7

What's funny is that the original is still selling at full price and on the top 20 best selling list, and will probably STAY even after GTA:VC is released. Kind of scary...

My gripe with GTA3 is that just as I was enjoying and admiring the game it became frustratingly hard.
Some of the repetitiveness kept me from continuing. Failing a mission meant driving all the way back over and over to a specific place. Timed missions and some of the street races were a pain too. Unfortunately, I tried to download a save using sharkport only to find out that GTA3 wasn't compatible and corrupted my save files. I recently started playing again but I don't thinK I will ever finish this game.

I have read that the sequel does away with having to restart each mission when you fail. Apparently you will be sent back to a starting spot (such as the hospital), but you will not have to go get the mission again, before retrying it. Hope that explanation made sense

OMG that's awesome. I hope that's true. Apparently my copy shipped so I will either have it late today or early tomorrow.

My impatient nature got the best of me today. I decided to cancel my pre-order and went up the street to Kay-Bee and picked up my copy! Too bad I won't get a chance to play it today...damn school with their damn essays.

My copy isn't coming in until November 5th.. the first shipment at my local Babbage's (500 copies) went like lightning so I plunked my cash down and have a guaranteed copy next Tuesday. If I can find it at another store tomorrow which isn't very likely I'll pcik it up then.

I was looking for PC games at my local EB. I know a couple of the guys there, and I asked how many copies of VC they had for sale, after pre-orders were filled.

12.

Gone in 11 seconds.

Dude, that's awesome.

At the last minute I decided to get it on ebgames.com for guarunteed delivery on the 29th. I paid a bit more, but I got it delivered with no hassles, so that was cool.

I never found it frustratingly hard, but there were some pain in the ass missions. In Vice City there's one where you steel "military hardware" pretty early on that is a BITCH, but overall the games well rounded I think. For pain in the ass mission there is 10 that are cool as hell IMO.
