LOTR: Fellowship Reviews

What does everyone think of LOTR: Fellowship for the PS2 so far? Complaints, praises, is it worth it?

I've only seen one review thus far, and that was on IGN's site. If this game can be beaten in 8 - 12 hours, as the reviewer suggests, I'll just rent it. I'll be turning my attention towards the PC release instead.

Whats the difference between the PC release and the PS2/XB release? I want to get this game but can only buy the PC version and was thinking of getting it as soon as it comes out.

I think the PS2 version is more of an action-adventure type of game (with some RPG elements) than the PC/XBOX version, which is more of an RPG in its gameplay. The PC/XBOX version closely follows the movie storyline, whereas the PS2's adds scenarios that borrow taken from the book that were excluded in the movie.

Check the IGN link in the prior post to get a better sense as to what the PS2 version offers.

Totally not correct. PC/XBOX/PS2 versions are all the same. The PS2 game that is more action oriented you are thinking of is The Two Towers, not FOTR. The FOTR game is exactly the same on all 3 systems sans graphic differences. Also, the FOTR game does not follow the movie at all, it follows the book. You can tell this at the onset when everyone is talking... also Tom Bombadil is in the game (as this is the part I am at LOL) but not in the movie. So far the xbox game has been a decent play, if not a little slow and delivery boy ish... Give it a rent, or get the xbox on in the deal I posted a bit back (I did).
