![]() Can someone list the different versions that are coming out for the LOTR Series on the various home gaming systems?(not interested in PC) How do they compare to each other in terms of what they cover/based on as opposed to your opinion of them? What are the release dates? I have seen in Blockbuster a LOTR-FOTR game for the X-Box and PS2 which look similar. And I thought the LOTR-TTT from EA games was due out by now. Just confused. |

Re: LOTR Games

Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (Universal, XBOX/PS2) Primarily follows the book's storyline with pretty decent accuracy (as opposed to the movie), and is a combination of exploration and action. While there are a number of combat scenes, the game also has large portions of searching/exploring missions. This game has received fair reviews, most of which list a clunky combat system and too much exploration as negatives, though an LOTR fan probably wouldn't mind either of these. Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (EA, XBOX/PS2/GC) This game is more of a game based in the LOTR:TTT universe than something that follows the story. EA's game mainly focuses on action and combat. A hardcore LOTR fan would probably want both of them, but as standalone games, neither looks to be ground-breaking. There is also a third game coming out, but little information is available on it.

That's true. But i feel that if developers put some serious time and money into games, the industry would flourish(even more than it is now). And there would be a ton of really great games out there, not just a few great, some good, alot ok, quite a bit sucky.
