I'm pretty new to gaming, the last console I owned was a Sega Genesis

, but I've been doing some PC gaming lately and I rented a PS2 for a week and have tried a bunch of games.

So far I've played these games on PC

GTA 3
Max Payne
Jedi Outcast
Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix
Die Hard: Nakatomi Plaza

And these PS2 games:

GTA 3
Max Payne
Manhunter
Terminator: Dawn of Fate

I've come to the conclusion that I prefer the 3rd person perspective much more than 1st.

Actually, a combination of the two is the best.

Which way do you like your shooter?

I prefer a mix of both I guess. A good third person shooter is MUCH more difficult to pull off than a decent first person game. Max Payne, GTA3, Dead to Rights are all decent examples, but look how rare they are? Good FPS games are a dime a dozen. So while I enjoy a good TPS, they are so rare that I don't fool with many new titles assuming they're probably just poor.

I'm going to agree with Ruined Halo has both FPS and 3rd person, and in My opinion it's the best shooter of all time and one of the best games of all time. The thing about 3D games that kills me is the camera seems to allways suck in those game's. So I would much rather play FPS insted.
