Dang, I was hoping someone had this game and was asking for feedback from fellow owners.
I really want to pick this up (with TRU having their 'buy 2 get 1 free' offer this week on PS2 titles), but if it's not a significant update to last year's offering, I'm going to pass.Anyone? Anyone?

i rented it, and it is pretty, but nothing to special compared to 2k2 except new rosters, i had fun with it, but dont want to buy it (and im a big basketball fan) i may change my mind when i rent it again to use it on xbox live, this may be more fun, i want to try nba live 2003 to try out the new shooting system, i would say give them both a rent

As a big basketball fan (my favourite sport to play and watch) I was looking forward to having NBA2K3 as my first PS2 b-ball game.
So I bought it on release day and have been enjoyiong it since. I don't buy many games (maybe 4 a year?) and I've been loving this game. My pal has 2K2, and admittedly, this game does not offer too much in terms of new features I suppose. However, as my first basketball game, it's perfect. the graphics are very smooth and realistic. The ESPN presentation is nice, and I can't wait start up a franchise (which is an incredibly detailed feature). The street mode is fun to kill time with (but why not pop in NBA Street, right!?!?!?). I dn't have to make too many roster changes, although i tend to enjoy doing stuff like that, and I created a decent looking Yao Ming. What I don't particularly like is the horridly boring, obviously pasted-together commentary, the create-a-player is a tad limited, and the game play doesn't get too realistic unless you play on all-star level (so far I'm paying mostlyu on Pro and can consistently shoot between 60-75% field goals, as can the AI). But overall I love it as it's my only sim baskeball game (NBA Street remains the perfect basketball themed game though) and I'll get a ton of play out it with Franchise mode and season mode. The graphics are very nice and the game play is tons of fun, which is all I can really ask for. Great fun. |

He's got a point, NBA Live has been dreadful the past few years. I haven't heard much about this year's game, so it might be a lot better. Definitely a franchise that has seen better days...
