Question Is something wrong with Battlefield 1942?

I tried getting the new 1.2 patch earlier but while it was downloading I read that its all messed up or something so I canceled it when it was %60 done. When I got home tonight I tried playing it but I cant connect to ANY servers to play online! Even ones that are practicallly empty (4/24 people)! I dont know what the problem is. I keep getting a stupid "Failed to Connect to Server" or "Connection failed" Something along those lines. Anyone know whats up?

IIRC, I believe I got my patch from the California site on 3DGamers.com (I didn't have any luck with Virginia or Indiana).

There have been quite a few reports of problematic downloads from host sites, so you may want to check a few file hosts by doing a search on Google, if none of the servers for 3DGamers pan out.

It's a huge patch, but a worthwhile and necessary one. The game loads faster, shots are more accurately registered, no lockups when a campaign is completed while you're in a vehicle, etc. I'm replaying the single player campaign to earn more medals for accuracy and kills registered.

Can you only play multiplayer if you have the new patch though? Cause I cant get into any games. I downloaded 60% of the new one but cancelled because i read alot of complaints about it. Your not having any problems?

I don't understand. Just downloading a patch shouldn't have any effect if you don't even have the whole thing.
Normally if you interrupt a patch you are downloading and you don't actually install it, it would have no effect on your game or system it would just be an incomplete file.

I haven't went online since I downloaded the 1.2 patch. I'll give it a try this evening and let you know how it went.
