Xbox Anyone new on Live?

Just curious, I heard many were talking about getting an XBOX and XBOX Live during the black friday sales. If you did, post your gamertag here so we can play!

Look at my AVATAR!

Anyone that wants an AVATAR like mine post your request here and I'll post it back here.

(NOTE**When you change your AVATAR we ask that you keep it for at least a year without changing it at DVD file.)

Xbox

Picked up my xbox on friday along with an extra controller and Halo for $30! My mom's outta town, so I opened it up and played it all weekend, but she's coming back tomorrow, so I just finished boxing it back up. God is this a good system. It has so much power, and so much potential. Microsoft did good this time. Co-op Halo is god. Me and my friend whoop ass.

Anyway, back on topic. I plan on getting Live sometime soon. Probably with Unreal:Championship or MechAssault. Which do you guys reccomend? More so...which do you guys have and like to play online the most so I too can join in! Thanks.

Well it depends. Unreal Championship is classic deathmatch, while MechAssault is deathmatch in a giant robot. Both are great, but I think Unreal Championship offers the better online experience (though it's interface is very unpolished). On the other hand, MechAssault has a far superior single player game, and has very good online play too. Be sure to check out the motoGP demo on the XBOX Live Starter Kit disc, you might want to purchase the full version to unlock some of the tracks - it's a great game. Also, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon is an awesome tactical war game if you are into that sort of thing, and it's pretty cool planning missions with others via voice. NHL 2K3 was just released, and it is a blast to play online as well (though it seems they are still working a few bugs out on the servers). So consider those titles first...

P.S. -- If you are a 2D fighter fan, in about 1-2 weeks Capcom VS SNK 2 will be coming out, with Live online multiplayer! That's a must buy for me.

HOLY CRAP!!! You have no idea how happy you just made me. The first thing i thought about when i was on live, is how awesome it would be to play an old-school 2D capcom fighter online. I've just brought out my DC recently, and started playing some of the Capcom and SNK fighters, and man, do I miss these games. Ruined, we're going to have to get some 2D fighting going on.

Any word on Marvel vs. Capcom 2?

I believe that was delayed, making many presume that it's to add Live capability.
Once a new fighter is brought to Live, I'll be excited.

Marvel VS Capcom 2 was delayed until March 2003 to add XBOX Live online multiplayer (official now).

FYI, the Official XBOX Live Thread has a big list of upcoming XBOX Live games. You should check it out.

Just got my Live account set up last Tuesday. My tag is M Bowen. You'll see me mostly on Mech Assault and NFL2K3. I had Unreal, but already sold it. Loved the number of gameplay modes, but that was about it. Might rent NHL2K3 soon too. I usually don't like hockey games, but it sounds like Sega's offering might be so good that it'll change my mind, especially w/ online support. I've also never even tried the Moto GP demo that came with my kit. Am I missing out on something great here, or is it just a nice, free addition to an already great package?

I'm really looking forward to Marvel vs Capcom, but the closest one I'm excited about is NCAA Basketball 2K3!

Hopefully I'll see some of you online soon, and I'll be looking forward to attending the next "Live night" that I have the software for!

Oh, and if anyone wants to do one of those avatar .gifs for me, that would be swell too

Yeh, definitely. motoGP is one of the better Live games out now.

As for not having software for Live Night, if we get enough people, we could have two seperate events going on at the same time, or we could play one game for 30-45 minutes, and a second for 30-45 minuts on the same night.
