What SNES games do you want on the GBA?

I'm in full-on GBA worship mode, loving these 2D games and SNES classics... I was wondering, which SNES games would you like to see on the GBA? Maybe some NES games as well? And what series (other than obvious ones) would you like to see get a 2D sequel on the GBA?

Top of my list would be Super Metroid, a new color version of Metroid 2, a classic Zelda collection (1 + 2 from the NES), and a brand spanking new Bionic Commando game! Maybe a classic style Mega Man game too...

The only port I could get myself worked up over would be Earthbound. I would LOVE to play that on the go just because EB is my favorite game of all time. Other than that, unless it has a total arcade-y feel to it (Super Ghouls & Ghosts and some other games I can't think of ... even though that example is already on the GBA) I'd rather get the original.

Happy to tell you Ikea, EGM already had news of an Earthbound port, so you're in luck...

Frankly, I wish they'd do less ports, and more new games based on the old games. While getting Link to the Past is great and all, I'd much rather get a totally new Zelda game designed like the old one. They did it with Metroid Fusion and Sonic, and I wish they'd do it more.

In that vein, I'd love to see new a new Ninja Gaiden game, new Mario game, new Contra game, etc.

Indeed! But it's great that Nintendo is doing ports for people that never experienced the original releases before. If the Earthbound port does come out for GBA, I'll grab it with fever as it was never released in Australia.

But I think original titles based on the old franchises is the way to go. My little brother owns a GBA and I've encouraged him not to buy ports (as he can play them on my SNES). He has a great collection of original GBA games that I really want to play but don't. I HATE handhelds. So I'm looking forward to the Game Boy Player that connects to the Gamecube and plays GBA games on the TV.

I'll finally have comfort in playing Advance Wars, Golden Sun, Wario Land 4, Metroid Fusion, Mario Kart and others that he has in possession.

I'd like to see a new Sparkster Rocket Knight Adventure game from Konami...

I think they are doing a nice combination of ports and new material. I'm sure that before the system is done we will have all new Zelda, Mario, and maybe another Metroid game. I still have my SNES as well, but buying a game again with a few extras is always nice as long as the price is decent. I have Zelda: A Link to the Past already, but by buying the new version I have a new copy that will last longer and have some extra stuff on it. Also, when the Gamboy Advance Player Thingtm comes out it will be like having a SNES built in to the Gamecube with no system digging and closet huning required. It's the same reason I bought the Final Fantasy Chronicles set even though I had FF2 and Chrono Trigger already...

Still, I do look more forward to the new games...

Chrono Trigger, FF 2+3 (which are actually 4+6) are on the PS1, which is fine with me. I would very much like to see Secret of Mana on anything, and packing Evermore in with it could only be a good thing...

This is off topic, but I would LOVE to see a modern update of Sunset Riders on the big consoles. I still find it to be one of the most fun multiplayer arcade games ever, and it would be a blast with updated graphics and all. Alright, carry on...

Sure they are on the ps1 but that do me no good at work... GBA is a godsend when im bored at work and rpgs are great for the time at work since i dont have to worry about pausing for the most part....

I agree totally, I think that that game is so underrated, the graphics are great, the game has a sense of humor, and the gameplay is fast and fun.... Wasnt that a Konami game?

Speaking of Konami, I'm interested in seeing what they're going to do with the re-acquired TMNT lisence.

I would like to see a collection of classic NES games on 1 cartridge (they should have no problem with this, I'd think) released by each major 1st, 2nd, and 3rd party developer.

SNES games would include Super Metroid, Illusion of Gaia, Actraisers 1+2, Super Castlevania IV,

How about some old Genesis games as well?

Personally, I'd like to see a Super Punch Out Port. I loved the original for NES and the SNES version. I'd be up for more Ninja Gaiden (which conceivably is one of the reason I want a Box).

Wow, the Super NES brought so many great games it's hard to choose. Here's a few favorites I'd like to see:

  • ChronoTrigger
  • Donkey Kong Country
  • EarthBound (one of the greatest games ever made.. oh how I'd love this.. )
  • Mega Man X Series (also 7 and Soccer)
  • Secret of Mana
  • Super Mario All-Stars
  • Super Punch-Out!
  • TMNT IV: Turtles in Time

Damn, so many great games. I can't wait for the GBA-to-GCN adapter in the Spring. I'll be playing that more than anything.
