Xbox Serious Sam (Xbox) for $19.99

Just picked it up for $19.99 at Kaybee Toys.

It contains both the original SS and SS: Second Encounter for PC. A very good value, it also includes a 2 player co-op mode to tackle the missions together!

I have played the PC version (can't run it that well b/c my cpu is sloooooooow), but it was fun! It is pure action/shooting, you don't hide or anything, headless minions holding up a bomb and running/SCREAMING at you is just.... priceless! Go get it!

Nice - I was thinking of only renting, but for only $20 that is a must purchase!

I checked two KBtoys near me. One didn't have it, the other had it for 49.99. Oh well.

Ruined, have them ring up the copy of SS, i bet you it will ring up as $19.99... apparently this price drop is not limited to KB toys, I think CC and other retailers are also dropping the price of this game...

Beware tho that there is a batch of bad discs of this game (I got the bad discs, gotta bring it back and return for another)

I dunno, I would still skip this on XBOX. SS doesn't even hyave Live Play, or user created levels on the XBOX. To me, at least, this is one title that is in every way better on the PC. I have seen it for $10 on PC.

I'd wait and save the money for RTCW and titles like that.

The main advantages to the XBOX version are of course that it is more conveniant to play on a bigscreen tv w/ surround sound, it has enhanced weapon graphics and models, and it has all the levels of SS1 and SS:2nd encounter put together in one game, which was how they originally wanted to release the game in the first place. And, if you are really itching to play over the net, you can use XBCONNECT to do so, or you can play splitscreen multiplayer on the console itself.

I understand your need to sell every XBOX game, no matter what, but I disagree. I think it is better on the PC still. Now, some of the upcoming games like RTCW I hope will be better on XBOX, with all the added levels and features.

I did not know that.

I don't think that the pre-text was called for. Elwood, you were the one who said it didn't have Live Play and it at least does use XBOX connect which is in direct response to your post.
You could have merely said that you disagree.
I would ask however, what is it in his reply that you disagree WITH?
Is it Not convenient to play on a big screen?
Does it not have surround sound? Does it not have enhanced weapon graphics and models? Does it not have all the levels of SS1 and SS:2nd encounter put together in one game? Does it not have XBCONNECT or splitscreen multiplayer?

Did you not say that you could merely get the PC version?
I would say that since the XBOX vesion differs that much from the PC version, isn't it WORTH pointing out in a thread ABOUT Serious Sam for the XBOX?
Your post invited and deserved a counter reponse.

Someone buy this for me and send to it my house. I would buy it real quick, but alas, theres no K-FUCKING-B TOYS!

Oh well. Yeah, Joe's right, Elwood, Ruined was just pointing out the features of Serious Sam, not trying to sell it. Xboxconnect is pretty good for online games, although nothing compared to live.

I'm on Elwood's side here. I would prefer the PC version if I had any interest in this game simply for the keyboard/mouse control.

I'd also like to add that I don't think there's anything wrong with Elwood's reply. He was simply pointing out that he would prefer the PC version just as Ruined was pointing out that he would prefer the Xbox version. Only difference here is that Ruined was pointing out the 'advatages' in his opinion, (some of which could be seen as disadvantages by another person.)

Well, I found myself a KB and picked this up for $19.99. Needless to say, I love it! My friend and I played Co-Op and I just couldn't stop laughing everytime I heard the Kamikaze bombers screaming. Too funny!

I would like to point out that there WAS something wrong with the reply. Making comments regarding other members is not tolerated here. The rest of his reply was fine.
NO ONE needs to take sides on this issue. We are all gamers in this forum, all part of a community and ALL part of the SAME side.
Not to mention I don't see what he was disagreeing with. Since he doesn't want to respond I guess we will never know.
Ruined didn't say anyone was wrong or you should go buy the game. It was merely a response to say that you can buy the PC version.
Personally if I wanted to play SS, and I do, I would choose the XBOX version. And for $20 I just might.

Lastblade was right, this deal isn't limited to KB either. Circuit City has it for $19.99, and ebgames.com has it for $24.99

I don't know, but this definitely isn't a change in retail price or anything, since Target has it "on sale" for 44.99, Gamestop/Software etc/babbages/funcoland have it for 49.99, and best buy has it for 49.99 - maybe just a good deal on a few stores with overstock.

When I called KB, the guy said he's pretty sure it was a "permanent markdown". That's what he said to me. I didn't believe him so I picked it up then anyway.

That's one heluva drop in price then, and probably not true anyway. I know we're not changing the price at work this week, so I think its just a Christmas sale type thing, as Ruined said.

My mind is loving all these sales but my wallet isn't! I just find it hard to pass up good Xbox games for less than $30. It's too good of a deal.

I gave up on Serious Sam.

Bought it the day I posted this... Got a bad copy (read this thread if you want to find out how to tell besides playing the damn disc)

http://forums.seriouscommunity.com/s...threadid=25486

Returned it for ANOTHER bad copy.

Returned it but the other Kbtoys are all out, so I took store credit, I know I won't be buying another Serious Sam, I do NOT want to be stuck with a bad disc. Terrible quality control.

I got a good copy at Circuit City - you might want to try circuitcity.com, as they just got SS in stock.

In defense of the Xbox version, you get Serious Sam and the Second Encounter for 20 bucks... for the pc, you get one or the other for 20 bucks...

I personally prefer the PC version, but only because I have a nice monitor, and a great gfx card and sound card... And I find it easier to play online (I hate XBconnect's interface... I love Xbox Live tho, so simple, so well done!)

Kinda funny, went to my Local KB and they didnt have the game, never even heard of it... for the hell of it i went to the EB in the same mall, and looked around. The game was marked 49.99, and upon further looking I found one used for 19.99. I asked why there was so huge of a price difference and he said he didnt know, so I had him scan the other box just for the hell of it. Turns out that the new one was also 19.99... the guy had no idea why the price is the same, but either way i got it for that price...

So far no problems playing it also!

Best Buy had this for the $19.99 price last night and I was going to get it, had it in my hand, and then noticed like a hundred bloodthirsty Christmas shoppers in line. Serious Sam did not seem like it was worth an hour wait at the time, so I put it back... hope I don't regret it...
