GAME ON feedback

Ok, guys this is your chance, bitch, complain and even moan. (A little praise will go a long way too!)

Give us some feedback on what you like, dislike and would like to see implemented in the Game on area to make it better for all of us.

If you want to bitch about Ruined being a Microsoft schill and you want him banned from the forum, Private message me.

The game-on forums seem to be a lot more cohesive than any other gaming forums I've found. I have a tendency to trust other's impressions here more than a few other forums I browse. Its cool that we have an Xbox Live section, it rocks playing with people that you've talked to before. Now if only we can get Godmoney to stop posting pictures of his enormous cranium....

I think that the gaming forum we have is great! I honestly don't think I would have got Xbox Live unless I knew enough people to play online with, and this forum has provided me with that.

And I love reading the reviews as well. While I work with and sell video games, it's always great to see how others view a game. I also like that we have more than one game reviewer, so its not just not one opinion, but many (I still don't know how Ruined has the time to write so many reviews though )

Any problems that the GAME-ON! Forum might have are small and not worth noting, so I say to the mods keep up the great job!

I wish it was a little busier of course, but it's pretty good the way it is. Like I have said before, a lot of gaming forums are really horrible for intelligent conversation, and this one is an exception.

oh you bastard. WELL AT LEAST I HAVE THE NERVE TO!

Anyway. I love this forum. I agree with MoonSka, Xbox live would of been less fun if I didn't have cool people to play with. I've gotten great reviews, and I've been led on to great games. I've also been hooked on to one of the best radio stations through this forum...W-NGO. It's awesome!

For all of our seemingly incoherent babble, there is a thread here. Lyrics to NIN's Head Like a Hole...

Now back to your regularly scheduled thread...

Actually, for the record, MoonSka0's radio station comment was a Live Nights inside joke, Joe's response was also an inside joke from Live Nights, you referred to HLAH, which godmoney also did, then I went back to another Live Nights inside joke. So all of the the replies did tie together quite nicely.

still made me LOL

everything is good, Live has made things much better to, its good getting to know people online and learning there voices, i definately agree that this forum has hightened my live play and made the purchase so much more worth it

only complaint, some members take anothers comment, which is an opinion, way to seriously, accusing people of being fanboys for stating there preference. ruined may love The Box, but i still think he brings a pretty unbiases opinion and he backs is comments up with fact

i want to praise the Mods of the gaming forum for the way they have handled this trying to shove people the right way when they start creating arguments

It think that Xbox Live helps solve part of that problem, too. When you have the chance to actually talk to someone and can tell when they're being sarcastic as opposed to serious, the comments that same person makes on the forum may not sound so harsh or sarcastic.

Let's say this, I have gotten some emails that 'many members' were upset about various things. If I don't hear about them here I guess it was just one person.

Might I ask what these 'various things' are?

Well I ain't really mad about nothin'. Ruined is a little pro-Xbox but you could say I'm a little pro-Ninetendo... we all have our favorites. Conversation is good, and though it's a little slow around here there are a lot of "views" which lets me know people are reading what I'm writing... works out good for me. Besides, if it was too busy I would miss out on a lot of things, especially with my move coming up.

I wish more people would write reviews, I just thought of that. If you have a game that has not yet been reviewed, why not write something up? It doesn't have to be as long as some of the others, Ruined has started making his shorter and my GBA reviews are pretty short. Maybe the rules of the Reviews section should be lightened so more people post? Just a thought.

I would agree so long as the review area doesn't turn into an impressions area.
I don't mind one sentence for each category, graphics, controls, etc.

I am partial to good games! I am your resident Neo Geo expert, hehe, since I love all things neo and have about 100 AES carts. I just dove into this generation of game systems with the xbox (not partial to it as much as I just want to play Steel Battalion).

Always opinionated, but hopefully not always offensive!

I still carry the Game Reviewer title from way back when the Reviews section first appeared and, yes, I did stop writing reviews, but only because I stopped playing games for a while. Now that I've got the PS2 and I'm back in the swing of things, I can get some new reviews up during the Christmas break.

Other than that, as much as I'd like to find something to complain about...I can't. Sorry Joe. We all know how much you like a good fight.

I'd write reviews (cuz I buy so much software) but I'm lazy... thats why I'll just rip off a sentence or two in software on whether a game rocks or not, I don't feel I'd do the game justice in a full review...

Hence... right now... if you like old school rpg, go buy Phantasy Star Collection... it kicks ass...

In general, I prefer this board to actual gaming forums, as the level of discussion seems to be a bit more intelligent than it'd be on, say, GameFAQs (that thread we had a while back on Miyamoto's game design was really satisfying). I think in part that that's due to the size of the board, or lack thereof--threads tend to hang around a while, and get good chances at a response. And most people here are those for whom gaming is a secondary hobby, I imagine--not teenagers and ridiculously hardcore gamers, who can be hard to have conversations with sometimes.

My only complaint is that there are way too many sticky threads here (seven, as of this post), and I get annoyed having to scroll past them all to check out new posts. Maybe the bar to clear in order to merit stickiness should be higher--it looks to me like most if not all of those threads are on life support anyhow, and with this board being so small, it takes a few days for a dying thread to drop off the front page. Maybe if you guys gave online gaming a separate subforum within Game Software, then that would take care of the X-Box online business (as well as including PC, PS2 and Gamecube online gamers): then you could unsticky the other threads and let them sink or swim.
