Anybody played Rygar?

I just saw some videos for the game and it looks awesome! Has anybody actually played the game and can give me any impressions? Unfortunately all my local blockbusters don't have the game for rent.

Thanks

Overall, a very good game. The graphics are some of the best on the PS2. The game plays very much like a 16-bit side scroller in some ways, and your weapon, the shield on a chain, is incredibly fun to play with and kill with. That's really the selling point of the game. It is one of the few beat 'em ups where your attack makes the whole game. I'd reccomend buying it if you're into the action genre, and enjoyed games like Devil May Cry.

<-- I just noticed that one.

From the gameplay shots I've seen in the ad this game looks fun as hell. The shots of him side-scroller-esque swinging really sold me.

Ok, I thought I recognized the name of that game and now you've sealed it. It's the same character from the NES game from back in the day. Same weapon and all, man, that was a great game.

Please understand that it is not a direct sequel to the original NES/arcade game, but more of a reimagining of the series. Still good, just don't expect a direct sequel
