Why can't Maxis use the normal method of releasing patches? The computer I access the interet with does not meet the requirements for Sim City, so I use my laptop, which I do not connect to the internet. So basically, I'm screwed here when in comes to getting a new patch. This is a stupid idea and needs to be rethought.

At least you didn't get an invalid CD-Key when you bought the game. (It worked when I installed the game but...) my copy of The Sims wouldn't let me register the game to download updates. I had to e-mail them about 20 times before they sent me a new key to use.

Re: Sim City 4 - Stupid Patching System

Many people including myself are having problems downloading the patch as well. Twice this morning I tried downloading it. After twenty minutes of sitting and waiting it locked up right at the point where it was suppose to install the patch. (The patch is only 3.1mbs in size) Very frustrating when a game company developes a game with bugs, then when they do finally come out with a patch, it has a bug in it as well. :rar: Quote:
